It is an excellent idea, but if you want a low effort dessert that will let you fuck then do this:

  • But these. They are called ramekins and they are the key to everything. You can probably buy them individually at your grocery store, make sure you get the 8oz size.

  • Buy a bag of frozen mixed berries. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, are all game.

  • Buy cobbler topping. It comes in a box in the baking section. Try not to eat it out of the box with a spoon because this shit is crack.

  • Put the berries in the ramekin til almost full, then top with cobbler mix, then throw those ramekins in the toast-r-oven at 350 until the berries start bubbling up through the crust.

  • Now here's the kicker... you're gonna make your own whipped cream to top it off with.. this is gonna make her panties literally fly away from her body. It's super easy to make

We prepare ours in house, it's about as fresh as I'm going to be able to make it and have it at your table in an acceptable time frame.

  1. Make pasta dough. Lasagna is great, it just has to be thin sheets. You don't have to make that shit all fancy with the crinkles on the end. You really don't even need a machine. Just roll it out super thin.

  2. I use the same pizza sauce I make for my pizzas. It's quite literally tomatoes, garlic, white onions, salt/pepper. Cooked down a few hours, and run through the vitamix. We also make our own italian sausage (grind down pork butt, season it, still keeping it simple), pre cook it off on the flat top, mix the two.

  3. I use the same cheese for my pizzas too. It's a mix of fontina, mozzarella, asiago, and provolone. Toss some ricotta in that shit, and you're set.

Now stuff it all into one of these bad boys, throw it in a 500 degree oven, and enjoy in roughly 15 minutes. I can make about 40 in 2 hours flat starting with raw, unadultered produce/meat.

As a guy that like cooking and gadgets here are my suggestions:

  • A mandolin (1 and 2 - extremely useful kitchen gadget. I recommend a V shaped blade over the straight blade, it just cuts better.)

  • A knife sharpener (I use an electric one, but any multistage sharpener is a great gift.)

  • Flat whisk (This is very useful for making any sauces, glazes and especially gravies.)

  • Microplane grater (I got one of these and I have never gone back to my old box grater. They come in 2 shapes: long and narrow vs wide and short, I prefer the long and narrow. They come in 3 or 4 'coarseness' levels from zester up to extra-coarse. I would recommend zest for a first one.)

  • Mini Ramekins (A set of these in the size range of 3 to 4 inches or 4 to 6 ounces has a variety of uses: creme brulee, warm cookie or brownie desserts, individual souffles. But what I use them most for is holding my measured spices together for when I cook. When I need to dump all my spices onto a heap of cooked meat, I can just dump them on instead of measuring them out one at a time directly onto the meat.)

I believe I have these ones in either 6 or 8 oz. I can't say whether these count as expensive or cheap, but they are really good quality. The 4 I have have lasted me more than 4 years and are still in like-new condition after being run through the oven, microwave, and dishwasher hundreds of times.
