Your safest option is to buy a WUP-002 (Power Brick) and WUP-011 (gamepad charger) locally.

The voltages that are output by these adapters are the same in all regions, you just have to get the adapter that corresponds to the region you live in. (Wii U region doesn't matter here.)

I have used xbox 360 and wiiu pro they both work well.

If you want it to feel as close as possible to the original games you can buy adapters to let use gamecube controllers, and you can by N64 controllers with usb.

I actually have a similiar controller - its performance is fine, but it'll start hurting your finger. I'd recommend getting one with the SpinZ adapter - it's relatively cheap and all you have to do is plug and play.

You can use your Xbox One controllers with the switch. It looks like they work wirelessly as well! The guy uses a brook usb adapter which goes for almost $40.
