For Aquaman skip almost everything and start with the four Geoff Johns volumes from the new 52. These are called vols 1-4 and have the subtitles of The Trench, The Others, Throne of Atlantis, and Death of a King. They are excellent. I can also recommend the two Jeff Park volumes that come after (5 and 6). I can't speak for anything after that.

Green Arrow, the easiest spot to start is with Green Arrow Year One and then read Rebirth forward. There are a few other good runs(Kevin Smith, Metzler, Winnick, Lemire) but Year One and rebirth will be the easiest place to jump in.

The last three are the most complicated:

Superman has different places to start depending on what you are looking for.

If you want to read about the various Origin's superman has had then you can read: Superman for all seasons, Superman:Birthright, Superman: Secret Origin, Superman: American Alien (A greg miller rec).

If you want to read Superman as an established hero, there are two good places to jump on board: Geoff Johns run that starts with Last Son of Krypton is really good. Otherwise, start with Superman:rebirth which is a really great run so far.

And for some just overall good Superman stories: Kingdom Come, Superman:Secret Identity, All-Star Superman.

Batman...Oi.

Do you want to read older books or newer books?

For older books you have the always timeless Batman Year One, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman:The Long Halloween and it's sequel Dark Victory.

If you want to read more recent books, then it just depends how far back you want to start reading.

You can go all the way back, you can go back to the 90's and read Knightfall, you can go back to the early 00's and read Cataclysm/No Man's Land, or you can jump in 2006's Batman and Son when they introduced Damien Wayne. To do that, you'll just read the Batman books by Grant Morrison.
If you want to get got up to modern Batman the fastest, just start with the New 52 run as other's have mentioned that starts with Batman vol 1: The Court of Owls.

Spider-Man, you have to decide what kind of stories you want. Do you want Peter Parker in High School? Then read Ultimate Spider-man. It's a seperate universe from the normal marvel universe, but it is really good. It also leads to Miles Morales who is, in my humble opinion, the best Spider-Man ever.

Do you want to read crazy Peter Parker in his late 20's becoming a High School teacher? Read the run that starts here:
https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Ultimate-Collection-Book/dp/0785138935/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502988383&sr=8-1&keywords=spider-man+by+jms

Do you want to start with Peter as an adult, but Single? Jump in with Spider-Man: Big Time.
I personally, think Big time is the best place in the normal continuity to start. Dan slott wrote some good stories and it feels the most like the pop culture Spider-Man people know.

Lastly two things. If you want to read about Miles Morales, you can just start with the Miles Morales Ultimate Collection:
https://www.amazon.com/Miles-Morales-Ultimate-Spider-Man-Collection/dp/0785197788/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1502988492&sr=1-3&keywords=miles+morales

But if you really want a cool story, there is a Spider from another universe named Spider-Gwen who takes the spider-man story you know and twists it on it's head:
https://www.amazon.com/Spider-Gwen-Vol-0-Most-Wanted/dp/0785197737/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502988539&sr=8-1&keywords=Spider-Gwen+0
Spider-Gwen and Miles are my personal favorites.

And let us know if you want to read cool comics that aren't about Superheroes. Because that is where the really great writing is.

For most comics if you want print graphic novels, go with Amazon. If you want print issues, find a local store. If you want digital, go to Comixology.com which does not have the problem of if the given book or issue is in print.

The important thing to remember is that a lot of us comic readers that started before the movies made them mainstream, didn't have internet resources, so we just jumped into random stories that sounded interesting and filled in our knowledge gaps as we went forward. Even now I don't know everything and never will. And I've been reading comics for over ten years.

Since it seems like you're mostly interested in DC characters I'd recommend checking out the current Rebirth Series. Now I'm only familiar with Batman and Flash, so I can't speak to the quality of the other series but I've enjoyed both of them so far.

Here's some links to the first volume of the Rebirth Series of all the characters (plus the Flash) you mentioned:

Aquaman

Batman

Green Arrow

Flash

Superman

As for the best place to buy comics I recommend Amazon and Barnes & Noble as they are generally pretty cheap and run good sales fairly often (especially Barnes & Noble).

Now for some of my personal recommendations:

Batman New 52 Vol. 1 Court of Owls, it's Batman at his best investigating an old Gotham conspiracy.

Hawkeye Vol. 1 My Life as a Weapon, it's about what Hawkeye does when he's not an Avenger. It has some really amazing art.

Hope this was helpful! Feel free to message me with any questions you might have!

As someone that has been collecting headphones for over 10 years, I can tell you that there is diminishing returns once you get into the $500 + territory. You are pretty much trying to find the sound signature that you love.

Point being, some of the best headphones in the hobby are easily $200-300 range. I would actually highly recommend the HD-600 or HD-650. They are fantastic headphones, and a lot of audiophiles even use them as end game (since they scale incredibly well with Amps/DACS) - and are overall a good balance.

HD-600

https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Open-Back-Professional-Headphone/dp/B00004SY4H/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501292664&sr=8-1&keywords=Hd600

(They are on sale now too. $285 compared to $400)

HD-650

https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-650-Professional-Headphone/dp/B00018MSNI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1501292664&sr=8-2&keywords=Hd600

(Also on sale. $315 normally $500)

They are both very similar. The 650 has a little more bass/veil, the 600 are slightly more neutral (without a colored bass). But both are very close (I personally find the 600 are more comfortable to wear. But the 650 looks more aesthetically pleasing and audiophiles seem to prefer it over the 600 but they are damn close in sound).

The 600/650 have really nice soundstage, clear separation of instruments - and decent bass (won't be boom). They are just great all around cans. The 650 rank really high on Head-Fi (the largest audiophile forum) and are actually rated the second best headphones on there.

If you don't mind me asking Tim, what sound sig do you like? Are you a treble man? Do you like that crunch/speed? Or are you a bass man? Do you like a thicker sound?

I think Greg has mentioned this before, but it's best to pick out "runs" and just go from there, because I'm not sure that there's a great starting point to get into DC otherwise.

My personal favorite is the Brian Azzarello run of Wonder Woman, that began with the new 52. It's self contained, and does a great job of reimagining her.

You can also read basically the entirety of Batman from New 52 on, starting with #1 and Scott Snyder through to the current Tom King run, https://www.amazon.com/Batman-DC-Comics-New-52/dp/B005NLH8SS

On the Superman front, Kingdom Come, Red Son and All-Star Superman are three separate but great self contained runs, but I'm sure Greg can speak more to this.

If your goal is to get back into continuity so you can be up to date, whoa boy are you in for a challenge. I'm no expert on this, but New 52 is probably the starting point. New 52 was basically a complete reboot for every character in 2011 (except batman) so it begins with every Hero's origin story. DC rebirth is the last major shakeup that retconned a lot of stuff (in particular swapping back to old Superman) so that could also be a good starting point.

DC has a couple of big "events" here and there but I'm not super familiar with them, and unlike Marvel they generally don't screw up the ongoing series too much.

I can’t relate to what you are going through, but I can relate to opening up on issues as a means of help.
I’ve heard this book is fantastic and sounds like something you could benefit of.

Anxiety as an Ally: How I Turned a Worried Mind into My Best Friend https://www.amazon.com/dp/0692401512/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cXydBbTWG54CB

Dan has been a game critic and pundit for years and has openly spoken on his anxiety.

Here’s an old GoG vid on the topic too.

I think I found the microphone!. I really appreciate your help, it's always nice to come across someone who goes out of their way to help you when they have no reason to do so. Thanks dude.

I'm pretty sure he's talked about American Lion by Jon Meacham at some point. It's about how badass and crazy Andrew Jackson was.

After about 4 hours of searching, I'm almost positive it's the Sony ECM-44. If not, it could be the ECM-55 or ECM-66. But I'm nearly certain it's the 44.

It's worth mentioning that before they got these new mics back in August(ish), they were using AT2020s, which are currently $79.

I think that SanFran Amazon warehouse is shipping one too many of these to the KF Offices every day..

So I'm not sure with how well versed the guys are with comics, but I'll throw out some recommendations that are pretty much must-reads for anyone interested:

Fables - If you've played Telltale's A Wolf Among Us, this is what it's based on. Simple concept: Fable and fairy tale characters exist, and live in a hidden NYC community, as refugees of their respective magical worlds and lands which "The Adversary" has conquered.

Y: The Last Man - Yorick Brown is the last surviving man on Earth, after plague wipes out everyone with a Y-chromosome. He hits the road with a gov't agent, and his pet monkey to find his girlfriend and figure out what happened to the world.

American Vampire - This one's tough to describe. It's sort of a generational story, taking place over 100+ years throughout the run, and with a few different characters it focuses on... but it's primarily about the first "american vampire" and his encounters with both humans and other breeds of vampires.

100 Bullets - This might not actually be a good rec, because the first 2 or so TPB's aren't indicative of the book overall... it's about as slow burn as slow burn can get. Premise starts out simple: A man gives seemingly random people a case with a gun and 100 bullets that are untraceable, full immunity from prosecution, and the option to get revenge on the person or people that wronged them. It spirals out from that basic premise into a 100 issue story that involves secret societies, conspiracies, and a really badass group of characters that'll require a Homeland-esque board with pins and string to map out who's on what side and what the hell is going on, lol. BUT IT IS SO FUCKING WORTH IT TO STICK WITH IT PAST THE INITIAL PREMISE.

Birthright - Simple premise: a kid travels to a fantasy world, but in the real world he is believed to have disappeared, with his father as the main suspect. Some time later, an adult man, long haired and beareded, with a sword and dressed like he's right out of LOTR appears and claims to be the boy that was lost. As the writer put it, it's the story of what happens AFTER all the great fantasy adventure movies of our childhoods, where the real world consequences come into play..

Scalped - From Amazon: Fifteen years ago, Dashiell "Dash" Bad Horse ran away from a life of abject poverty and utter hopelessness on the Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in hopes of finding something better. Now he's come back home armed with nothing but a set of nunchucks, a hell-bent-for-leather attitude and one dark secret, to find nothing much has changed on "The Rez" -- short of a glimmering new casino, and a once-proud people overcome by drugs and organized crime. -- this is a dark, fucked up crime epic set on an Indian Reservation, full of conspiracies, and a ton of twists and turns.
