So I built a bench! Wife got tired of me wobbling the bed when I put my shoes on in the morning to go to work, so I found a species of wood I really like and put some hairpin legs on it. The board is a stained 6/4" x ~6' length on Red Eucalyptus (Red Grandis in some markets). I used minwax Espresso 273 http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/stains-color-guide/ and will finish it up with some linseed oil. Legs were an amazon purchase as those were the cheapest and I'm happy with their quality http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HW9GZLK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 The Grandis has a real nice grain pattern to it that reminds me of a Sapele. I'm usually not a big fan of stain but in this case it matched our decor to well not to do it. Considering a table next as I'm so pleased with the cost and workability of the stuff!
