I assume the headset has a 3.5mm TRRS plug (3 rings on the plug, see here for reference), in which case a 3.5mm splitter would work, yes.

But I wouldn't buy the one you linked, as the reviews say it breaks easily... Here's a (hopefully) better alternative.

What the splitter does is separate the 3.5 combo your headphone/inline mic has and split it to two 3.5 plugs, one for headphones and one for mic. This is literally the first thing i found, just for explanatroy purposes.

It takes your plug with four rings and splits it over two with three rings.

Basically it would go like this

  1. disconnect your headset

  2. uninstall any related software

  3. go into device manager and uninstall any driver related to the headset

  4. disable windows online auto driver update

  5. Connect the headset, windows should auto detect basic sound device drivers for the headset (possible that it won't work right)

  6. test that your headset can playback sound and record in windows

  7. see what wildlands thinks about this haha

PS if you haven't switch to open mic and maxed mic sensitivity in game, I would recommend you do so for testing my original issues also bugged out my push to talk

sorry, I am not aware of a launch command to force USB audio recognition

If you feel like trying something Frankenstein-like, you could try combining these two adapters (good chance it would not work, but seems like hail mary type of situation):
