Yup this is listed as normally being $100, with no price history in camel camel camel (probably because they created a new listing or something to prevent history).

Guess what? Its MSRP is $50 normally.

So while it's still a good deal, it's not an AMAZING deal.

Edit: Oh and it has just 2% reliable reviews...

Get a charger. A real one, not one of those puny fuel rods. I have one of these, it'll charge your phone at least 4 times over and supports quick charging for most devices.

Maybe you could get this powerbank when it goes on sale for 50

I’ve used a few different brands over the last several years. To me, the best bang for the buck are those from Anker, available on Amazon. There are quite a few, but check out this one: Anker PowerCore II 20000

Here's my findings so far.

Anker PowerCore+ mini - Battery bank shut off before the watch was charged (forgot percentage, will test again.)
Anker PowerCore+ 13400 - Battery bank shut off before the watch was charged (forgot percentage, will test again.)
Anker PowerCore II 20000 - Battery bank charged the watch to 97% and shut off
Anker PowerCore II 6700 - Battery bank charged the watch to 97% and shut off
Anker PowerCore 10000 - Battery bank charged the watch to 94% and shut off

I used the USB-C cable that comes with the pro controller. I didnt want to use a cell phone charger so I would just charge the battery and then use the 18w output to charge the switch. I charged it at least 6 times this way last week - both while sleep and playing. No issues on that one, so maybe its the upgraded hardware?

You are showing a different model. The one you are showing is an older model that doesn’t have usb c PD.

no, thats a different model, it has to say "qc" or "quick charge" i had it but i prefer the "slower" charge smaller anker now & since the fast charge one wastes a lot of charge in the process & every drop of charge is vital in a battery pack.

but if you like fast charge, get it, but i recommend only use qc port when you really need it, to get the most charge out of the battery pack

My wife's S6 is really showing it's age, she has to charge it 3 times a day. The real solution is to replace the battery. But since the phone is so old we're just going to upgrade her to an S7 we got for free. We also carry around a 20100mAh Anker battery, it has Quickcharge so theres never an issue of draining the phone while plugged in and it can charge your S6 five times before needing to be recharged.

You wont be able to charge while using the Switch with anything that outputs the standard USB 4.8A (EDIT: as in, that charge bar will not increase during play, it will just reduce slower..)

I use this, I fly between Canada and Australia a lot, 14hrs

Quick maths: Switch runs a bit under 3 hrs for a game with high GPU use (just think Triple A), and more for an indie game for example. Switch battery is 8,000mAh, this battery is 20,000mAh. So that's 2.5 charges, plus the initial charge, so 3.5 charges = 10.5 hours, but because energy transferrance and use is a fickle bitch take off about 25% of that. This should do you roughly 8hrs.

EDIT: Whoops, I got mixed up in my power chart I have for travelling. It's roughly 4,400mAh, so lets say it'll last 16hrs. Regardless I haven't managed to drain it yet :)

I think battery cases made sense when charging was so slow. But with quick charging, a battery bank like THIS or THIS can top things off pretty quickly and for less money than a battery case.

Ok, so powerbanks, in general, deliver voltage/amperage in different ranges, like some deliver 9v/2A, some 9v/2.5A, some go above the 18W recommended, some have PD, some don't... So... Let's say I'm using a powerbank with PD, will it adjust itself for the Switch needs? Does the Switch work with PD or should I get one that deliver specifically 9v/2A, 12v/1.5A or 15v/1,2A?

A Klim windproof balaclava. Around $50 and one of my best "bang for the buck" gear items. I have 3 and use them all.

Goggles if they wear a motocross helmet, or even new/different lenses if they have goggles. Goggles start around $80 and go up from there. Lenses are around $25 (make sure you get the right lenses for the right frame/model).

Gloves like the KLIM powerxross are around $90. They run small, so get a size larger than normal.

Tunnel bags for the sled (the BCA MtnPro Tunnel bag is $125).

A USB battery pack to recharge a cellphone (cold will zap them extra hard) is around $30.

Rechargeable handwarmers. Around $30-$50.

A gallon of 2-stroke oil of choice, assuming they ride a 2-stroke sled. Usually runs around $40-50.

I was looking at the Powercore II 20000 which, despite having the same name has slightly different specs in their comparison chart. But they both look like they'll probably function just fine.

It powers a mininova and 505 loopstation for about that time. Love the freedom from the power outlet to play outside.

I think some things are going wrong here. To start with the Mophie Powerboost XXL weighs in at 15.8oz(450gr) while the Anker Powercore II 20000 weighs in at 13oz(369g). So the Anker is actually lighter. Next to that the Anker has both Quick Charge in and out. Meaning that the whole power bank recharges in about 5 hours, while the Mophie takes about 12 hours. Also efficiency is quite important here. Even A-brand batteries vary largely in efficiency, being able to deliver between 95% - 60% of the advertised capacity to your devices. Anker is known to be reliable and efficient, with their latest generation power banks all being 85-95% efficient. That doesn't mean that there aren't great alternatives and it doesn't mean the Mophie is bad. It is just that this is a fast moving market with a lot of variables in which Anker has proven to be lightweight, affordable, efficient, consistent and reliable. So it is a save choice.
