Better fans in your computer. Big noctua fans are very quiet for a lot of airflow.
AMD CPUs are crazy crazy hot, so get a massive water cooler for it. You can buy closed-loop systems that are very little work to install. If you can fit a 360mm radiator in your case, and load the radiator up with nice quiet fans, you’ll likely cool the processor better than with a simple heat sink based radiator and quieter.

As for your GPU, whatever you can do to keep it not working too hard while you’re recording. You may need to disable some of your displays while you’re recording.

Power Supply can also make a bit of noise. My audio computer uses an EVGA Gold power supply that has an “eco” switch on it that supposedly makes it quieter by disabling the fan in it. It does disable the fan, but the unit makes a high pitched ringing sound. However, with eco mode off, it’s a very very quiet power supply as the fan does not spin very fast.

You do not need both.

The Thermaltake Floe is an AIO (all in one) unit. It is for cooling CPU only. You don't need to buy anything else for it. If you're looking for a good AIO, I recommend Corsair's Hydro line. The Corsair H100i is amazing. And if you want that nice 360mm radiator, the H150i just launched. H for Hydro. The H150i may be hard to find as it is new.

The Pacific M4 is just a waterblock. Standalone waterblocks are for custom liquid cooling loops. Unlike an AIO if you bought this, you would need tubing, fittings, a pump, a reservoir, coolant, and radiators.

Also unlike AIO's, waterblocks are specific to parts. AIO's tend to be pretty universal. For example, that Pacific M4 is only for use on ASUS TUF X299 MARK1. There may be other compatible boards... but probably not.

Custom watercooling tends to be significantly more expensive. EKWB does have a pretty decent aluminum line for much lower costs. There are some caveats with it, but it's pretty simple. If you do go custom, I highly recommend staying away from Thermaltake. Someone recently posted about a 1080ti that got destroyed by a Thermaltake GPU block. Might have been a Titan... not sure... Either way, it was a sad sight to see.

No. When buying a Floe of Corsair Hydro, all you need is the AIO. DON'T buy the Pacific M4 unless you have more money to spend.

Thanks for the info regarding boards as well. According to this site, the motherboard that I originally chose ranks really high and the Extreme 4 is listed as well but it says, it will "get the job done with decent performance." The one that I originally chose is quite a bit more but do you think this is an area that I should be trying to cut costs ?

Lastly, what are your thoughts on water vs air coolers? In terms of water cooler, the CORSAIR Hydro Series H150i seems like a really strong option.

Looking for airflow suggestions:

I'm buying the Corsair 780T which comes with the two front 140mm and one 140mm exhaust. I plan on buying the H150i Pro for my CPU and using it as top exhaust. I will also have the Aorus Xtreme 2080 ti as my GPU, blowing its 3 fans worth of hot air upward. Is this a good airflow set up or am I going to have negative pressure the way it's set up? Alternative suggestions to layout would be helpful. If I need to buy two more intake fans for the bottom of the case, that's fine, but I'm wondering if I have enough as is.


Would the H150i 360mm radiator as intake and then the single 140mm as exhaust work? The GPU would blow its hot air upward anyway. I could possibly use the two included 140mm as bottom intake in that case, but I'm not sure how that will work with the built in fan controller.

Also, I plan on building my PC late December (past Christmas). Is it a bad idea to buy the Liquid Cooler, SSDs, and case a month before building?

Currently looking at upgrading my processor because it's been a bottleneck lately, but I'm not sure which one to get. I have an EVGA GTX 1070 graphics card, and then I'm probably going to get a new PSU and case and a second, larger SSD because I foolishly believed I would not fill 500gb, but I think I can pick all that out. I'm mostly just lost on the processor and motherboard front. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I should specify I'm thinking of a budget of... maybe $400 for the processor and $300 for the motherboard? That's a little flexible but if I won't get a huge performance boost out of something on the pricier side then I'd probably go with something more inexpensive to spend more on RGB.

In terms of water cooling, I think the 3700X would benefit from a 360mm AIO - Corsair has been very dependable over the years, but I personally would use the Deepcool Castle 360 (RGB) as it has very similar performance at a much cheaper cost. The Deepcool water cooler also has some anti-leak tech...I think they just added a diaphragm valve as a pressure relief system; either way, it's more leakproof than the Corsair H150i. Plus, the RGB in the middle looks really nice.

AIO's are very easy to set up, although not as easy as air coolers. There's just an additional step of mounting the radiator and fans.

Regarding the RAM, you can aim for 3200 or 3600 MHz RAM at 16GB, ideally the latter. Some RGB options (to make use of the glass side panel) include the following. These are the 3600 MHz variants:

I was stressing about the Ram clearance with the Noctua NH-D15, this would solve that.

EDIT: From some googling, it appears that while the D15 is really good, it can't compete with 360mm rad cooling. So water cooling is for sure the better way to go here.
