Best way to quickly get a decent overview of a popular product is to check Amazon reviews. It has 3,7 stars out of 5. Depending on how much do you value your phone, I wouldn't really call it all that great.
Personally, I have ordered Tackform - it has a much higher review score and costs the same. However, I am going to use an old HTC I don't really care about for a bike GPS, not my carry phone. I got an old Garmin GPS watch to keep track of my statistics and a regular dumb bike computer for flat ride data on the go.

I use this. Fits my needs, isn't bulky. Can be removed from the bike and stored in a bag or pocket easily.

The only problem is that you'll have to get used to placing it so the volume button isn't constantly depressed and the home button/bottom of the screen isn't obstructed. For such an inexpensive and simple device, this thing is really good. Well worth the money if you ask me.
before i switched to wahoo, this is what i used. 15 bucks and it worked with every phone i tried
I'm not sure there is an adapter to put a phone on there. That is for attaching a Trek bike computer.
There are some neat silicon mounts that basically wrap around the bar and corners of your phone. They're universal and work well as far as I've seen. Plus, they're inexpensive.
