It's easier than it seems at first, but it does require soldering and then mucking around on your computer's command line. You have to unsolder the two wires feeding the LED board, unscrew and remove that board, and use a wood dowel or plastic spudger to press the driver board out the back of the head.

After that, you just need this and this, along with this software and the driver from the bottom of this page. And the latest Anduril release for your model of light from here.

There are really good instructions here, but the hardest part is re-wiring the lead from the programmer to the test clip. After that, you clip it to the driver, type a test command to make sure it's wired right, and then type a second command to send the .hex file to the flashlight. Put the light back together and you're done.

No problem!

If you buy all the components from stock manufactures you also need an ISP Programmer And a 10 to 6pin Adaptor for initially boot-loading and flashing the Main 328p Processor. Good luck!

I haven't used this personally, but this is a port of USBasp for an attiny85. You can use a USBasp with avrdude by default (and the Arduino IDE with possibly a little bit of hacking).

Or you just go the simple route and get a USBasp off of Amazon for $5.49. I didn't get mine from this seller, but I have the same USBasp, and it has done well for me.
