I managed to get this working using a 10ft and 3ft version of this cableand chaining them together.

For USB, a friend of mine recommended this cable as it worked fine for him. However, I'm needing to use the Vive link box like others suggested here to get it working, whereas my friend did not. It could be that I needed a longer cable than they did. They mentioned only needing to extend by 10ft. Could also be that my motherboard is a few years old, right when USB 3.0 was coming out.

However, since getting it setup I've finally had to plug in headphones and have discovered that the headphone port on the headset if very loose and I'm getting no left channel audio out of it. So I need to get a replacement headset. :(

So I just set up my rift in my new place. Ran the wires through the attic. Had to use 2 - 15ft USB extensions on one sensor, but the other has the same extensions I've used in the past with no issues. After connecting everything, I tried to connect to my Inateck USB card as well as my motherboard(tried alternating the two sensors and Oculus between them), no difference. The initial check says everything is OK but then when I go to proceed it presents me with this error and will not let me continue.

I figure it is one of two things. Either the sensors cannot see each other and are too far away(they are positioned diagonally across the room at least 14') or maybe its just the extensions. Here are the ones I purchased. I used 2 - 15ft for one run.

Oculus software recognized and connected the sensor at 3.0, so far so good. Of course it could still fall apart in a month or two but we haven't gotten that far yet.

This was the one I got.
