Yeah looks like it's an optional piece. Most VESA mount should fit inside where the monitor stand usually goes. That's how mine works. I think j it is the vesa stand you bought they made it a bit too wide on the outside. Even though the holes fit the 100x100 standard they left too much metal outside of the holes. Might have to purchase one that is smaller in footprint overall. My mount fit into the square where the original stand goes. 34uc88
Here's mine. You see how the holes are very close to the edge so there's not much extra to bump into the back of the monitor.

Same monitor. There’s a bracket inside of the box that your monitor came with to convert it for VESA mounts.

I was going to adapt this Mount-It! Vesa Monitor Stand to create a stand to cradle the studio monitors from the bottom but there were 2 screws on the speakers that were 100mm apart so I just ended up taking out the screws and the rescrewing them with the vesa monitor between them. I'm still surprise at how sturdy they are.
Most arm mounts come with both a C clamp for the edge of the desk as well as a grommet clamp to screw in through the desk, so that's the easy part.
How to mount 4 monitors, however, is a different story. Your best bet is probably to buy a dual monitor arm that uses a pole that you slide the monitor arms onto.
Buy two of those, drill them into the desk side by side, and place two monitors stacked to the right, and two monitors stacked to the left.

Mount-It! Is a great brand. They replaced the AmazonBasics where I'm from, with no loss in quality. Would highly recommend the brand - can't speak for this specific mount, but the reviews seem good.
