I don't advocate animal cruelty, but some of these can be real pests, and I suppose water isn't the worst weapon to use against them.

I would say a battery powered blaster like this: Electro Storm might work, but if you want something that's not noisy, the Point Break blaster will work. These two blasters all have a stream that is somewhat small.

Need something with a bit more power? The Scatter blast has 5 times the number of streams as the two above, in a scattered pattern.

And finally, if you want to knock the little bastards off your balcony, go with the Shot Blast. This Super Soaker is powerful enough to temporarily blind someone when fired at close range (trust me, I know). It's available at Target stores for the most part, which is why it's so expensive on Amazon.

Well it's slight over $10 but it's so much fun I had to share even if it means I won't win. Everyone should have a couple of these!!

Need to figure out making a barrel
Detect when lid is closing and pull back solenoid again
Spray's vinegar if the knock is wrong.

Ravenclaw Door Knocker

This works fairly well when mine won't shut up. Just soak it enough that it spends an hour cleaning itself.
