>Is it a terrible idea to take a laxative and drink mostly water and protein for a day to kind of "cleanse" (read: push all the shit out so to speak)?

this is useless, just add fiber to your diet for intestinal health. I use this. abd anything would work tho.

RAW is: everything except suits + knee wraps.

RAW+ : everything except suits

as /u/lottrbist_ said there are some specifications for the equipment to be considered raw. sbd and rehband sleeves both satisfy those specifications.

Edit;
As I've been reminded, I have not done any dosage research so this first link may work, it may take more, for the true of heart and colon! As always, ask your doctor! Or guess and check, but just know I am not any kind of professional nor do I particularly know what I'm talking about :p

Psyllium husk is a lifesaver. Take 2 spoonfuls every day and you'll have the perfect poos. Even after a day of beer and fast food I didn't have any problems.

I got this huge thing of psyllium husks for only $16 and it lasts for months on end.

Thank me later when you have no wipers everyday at the same exact time whether you're on an all whey protein or all beef jerky diet.

Fiber can be beneficial for some IBS sufferers - I'm not claiming otherwise.

What I don't like is this company using religion to push it's absurdly overpriced fiber. I don't know exactly what capsule size they're using, so I'll assume size 0 (most common). Size 0 will hold around half a gram, depending.

These thieves sell a 270 capsule bottle for 149$. In other words, approximately 135 grams of fiber at $1.10 per gram.

Now let's compare another brand - 500 capsules at 500 mg each, 250 grams of fiber. Cost is $13.99, or $0.05 per gram.

That's not even the cheapest: if you get plain bulk powder not in capsules, 680 grams for $11.99, or a bit under $0.02 per gram.

I take the recommended dose every morning. But I would start out with 1 tablespoon to a good pint of water or juice. Do that for a week and then kick up to 2 tablespoons.

From time to time I won't take it for about a week or two just to let everything go back to normal.

These images should give you and idea of what it's about.

I order it from Amazon. But word from the wise, don't waste your time or money with the pills or anything else. Brand is your own choosing, but always make sure it is "Whole Husk". There are also other supplements that I have heard people having better success with as well.

Note that if you buy the pill form the dossage is really low. Each pill is about 1.5% of your daily fiber need so you'd need to take literally a handful each day to have some noticeable effect. The loose form (that you mix in with water) seems to allow you to easily take a bigger dosage.

So if you're trying to add mass/strength, your biggest concern with going vegetarian is probably going to be getting enough protein. I try to take in like ~200g/day. You can calculate what you need here.

I personally get most of my protein from protein shakes. I use pea protein exclusively, this brand. Unfortunately, it comes from China but I can't pass on the price point. I also add peanut flour, cocoa powder, bananas, flax seed meal (good source of omega-3's), psyllium husk fiber (helps to slow down digestion of protein), BCAA's, creatine, and beta-alanine all in almond milk. The reason for some of those supplements can be found here.

Thanks to the fiber and the flax seed, it gets super thick almost like pudding if you let it sit. Usually, I'll mix in cold brewed coffee to get the consistency I want. It's really good. I drink like ~48 ounces a day, every day. Still have yet to get tired of it.

As far as recipes go, I try to eat high protein meals usually with beans/legumes and quinoa. I use tofu or tempeh as meat substitutes quite a bit too. I eat a lot of chili and curries. My instant pot (pressure cooker) is always getting used.

I also supplement with this multivitamin.

In response to the anti-protein focus comment, I guess I would say that I eat at a calorie deficit so it's hard to hit my protein targets unless I supplement. However, you should still count your macros at least at first to make sure you're getting in the range of where you should be.

This is all you need (not necessarily this exact product, but psyllium husk in general). Do a couple spoonfuls in water once or twice a day. It's the same stuff as the capsules you linked, but if I did the math right, the capsules are $1.70/oz whereas the loose whole husks are $0.66/oz.
