All or most of these use a cartridge to gate and mix the hot and cold water. You’ll need to know your faucet make and model to get the right cartridge. Mine was doing the same thing and was fixed with this $10 part: https://smile.amazon.com/Pfister-9740350-Genesis-Cartridge-Assembly/dp/B003N3IGJS
Its as easy as turning the water off under the sink, then usually popping a cap off the handle and removing a screw or two. Easy job.
