There's Mouse Toggle. It adds mouse-like functionality to the stock remote. It works ok if you have no other mouse.

After the stock remote, my favorite is Remote Mouse for Fire TV, followed by the Logitech K400 (when it's $20).

Your options are:

  1. Use a Remote mouse app like Remote for Fire TV or Mouse Toggle for Fire TV

  2. Connect a bluetooth mouse or keyboard w/ touchpad

  3. Send a touch command using ADB

It was a bit of an hustle to get it working on my Fire TV stick. I sideloaded the App via this app. Then I had the problem, that this app cant be navigated with the normal Fire TV Remote. So I installed this app from the Amazon playstore, because I didnt find a good one on the Google Play store to be able to navigate the app with a mouse cursor...

In my opinion this is just utter bullshit and Dorna really needs to step up their game and release and actual app for FireTV because this is just stupid!

To Download an .apk:

  1. Go to the Google Play Store and search for the your app.

  2. Copy the app's URL

  3. Enter that URL in a .apk downloader and download the .apk.

  4. Download adbfire

  5. In adbfire choose "Install APK" and select the NBC Sports .apk file.

  6. You'll now find the NBC Sports app in Settings>Applications>Manage Installed Applications

To get a mouse working on your Firetv:

I prefer using the Remote Mouse App from the Firetv store. It's currently $1.99.

  7. Download the app from the Amazon app store.

  8. Download the app on your mobile

  9. Open the app on the Firetv and make sure your phone is on the same wifi. You should now be able to use a mouse cursor with your firestick to navigate the NBC Sports App

This [app] (http://www.amazon.com/Remote-Mouse-for-Fire-TV/dp/B00S4MU62I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422310016&sr=8-1&keywords=fire+tv+app+remote+mouse) should work fine. I use it to scroll in fios tv without issues.

Edit: Just sideloaded Xfinity TV Go app and it scrolls fine with the app I suggested. I recommend it as your best option.

It's $1.99 but I have it on both my Fire TV and my $35 Fire tablet.

Using these two apps I can use my phone as a remote to get into PIA settings. Also, PIA allows per-app settings for VPN. So, you can set PIA so that the VPN is only active for Kodi, but inactive for Prime and Netflix, for example.

I'd get a bluetooth keyboard that has a trackpad built in also. If you can't click into the box you need to do the typing, it's a moot point. The trackpad lets you get a cursor on screen and point/click wherever you want. Another option is using a remote mouse app and then you get mouse and keyboard functionality from your phone. It's a good option for rare use cases. You don't want to return whatever device you get, because a lot of these apps log you out after a certain amount of time and you'd need to be able to enter your password again in that case. For $2 look into this. http://www.amazon.com/Remote-Mouse-for-Fire-TV/dp/B00S4MU62I

I doubt you will get channels but you can download an app on your phone that gives you a mouse on the fire tv. This should help you select what you need on the tv but I would still bet the android Vue app on fire stick would show all channels as mobile restricted.
