Crouton works with external drives, although I'd recommend a low-profile USB 3 flash drive (eg, Samsung, Sandisk) over an SD card. I found Crouton from an SD card to be painfully slow any time something had to do much I/O like program updates.

I haven't tried an XBox 360 controller, but my DS4 works plugged in without any extra software. I would guess that it will work fine.

The i3, in addition to being a faster CPU, has twice the EUs in its iGPU compared to the Celeron and they're clocked ~15% higher. Probably won't make a difference it what you're playing, but if you want to try running more graphically-demanding games it would be useful.

For me? No. For other people? kinda. But you can buy one of these, plug in it and its better than an SD Card.

Don't use USB2.0. It will work, but it will be very slow. USB3.0 or USB3.1 are good.

Just get a low profile USB thumb drive. They are dirt cheap ($20 for 64GB) or $40 for 128GB. That's a ton of music, no weird wifi thing needed.

Well I wouldn't need the charger/ram since I'd put 8gb into it and I have a charger already.

I'm using samsung FIT USB 3.0, no issues. Remember though that for CDJs you'll need to use DISKPART and partition the drive at 32GB with the FAT32 file system.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been looking for a small-ish drive to use, but they all seem to overheat, except for the Samsung one. I'm also wondering about how well a tiny drive could run Linux.

The Samsung FIt is a USB flash drive. This PC has very limited memory, to it's recommend to put all of your files and downloads directly to it.

I've been using it for the past few days for learning Web Development, I've had no issues. I've had 6-8 tabs open, a media application open, and sublime text Editor. I can see maybe more intensive programs could cause an issue, but so far I've had none.
