512GB Samsung EVO Plus.

Make sure you check the class, regardless of capacity--it should be Class 10 and U3 compatibility for fastest read/write speeds.

This is the one I got: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H1231S8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not surprised to see fakes of SanDisk cards. They are extremely common and easily faked. You could try a different brand, like Samsung...

I picked up one of the U3 Evo 512gb cards and have had no issue. I'm at around 300gb usage. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H1231S8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1WkADbBSEJ65M

...and yeah, Amazon's customer service has always made swaps and refunds really easy.

or buy two 512 gb sd cards for ~$230

I thought about getting the 400 GB off Amazon, but I went ahead and just went for the 512 GB off Amazon for $80. Good price, in my opinion, and worth the extra $30 for the additional 100+ GB. This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H1231S8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gLvRDbJ7ZHQQC

The Switch can handle up to 2 TB, IIRC. This should hold you over for a while especially upgrading from 128.

The transfer is a bit much, so get comfy for about 2 hours. I upgraded from 64 GB and was near capacity.

GameStop was going to charge me around $50 for a 128, the highest they had available. I was glad I passed after seeing the prices and capacity available online.

There’s an extension/addon to view Amazon price changes which helped influence my decision. The $80 was the lowest price there is for this card in its lifetime on Amazon. I’ll get the name of the extension if you’re curious.

There is a bit of a confusion about the 512 GB cards on Amazon. There are 2 made by Samsung that are nearly identical to each other but different names and different prices, I think $5 difference or something. My Googling determined that one is exclusive to Amazon and the other is available anywhere and there is no real difference between the two except the name.

So be aware of that when buying cards on Amazon. You should definitely research the cards before buying any one of them right off the bat because you could be saving money getting the same card under a different name.

More pics (SB2 / SP3 / XPS 15): https://imgur.com/a/BlKaKud

I have a pretty beefy little (<11L) SFF desktop for heavy stuff at home (Ryzen 7, GTX 1080 Ti). For mobile use, I've had a Surface Pro 3 (i5-4300U / 8 GB / 256 GB SSD) since launch (4.5 years) and a Dell XPS 15 9530 Touch (i7-4702HQ / 16 GB / 1 TB SSD / GT 750M) for about 5 years.

I've been really happy with the SP3 - overall one of the best PCs I've ever owned - and it's still good enough for mobile use. The XPS 15 is still competent enough for most things I throw at it, but I realized I wanted a VR-capable laptop, to be able to travel with my Samsung Odyssey HMD. The XPS 15's GT 750M is... not quite ideal for VR.

VR meant I'd need something with at least a GTX 1060 - but after spending some time with various gaming laptops, I couldn't live with the lack of a touchscreen, poor display, poor keyboard and/or touchpad, abysmal battery life, poor design, and thick, heavy body that plague most of those. The only two "civilized" options were the Razer Blade 15 and the Surface Book 2 15. The Razer has a stronger CPU and available GPUs (and non-Marvell Avastar WiFi), but the keyboard is subpar, and I'm not sure I trust their quality.

So I decided to look for a Surface Book 2 15, hoping it could replace both the XPS 15 and SP3. Only issue was I needed at least 1 TB storage (based on what I used in the XPS 15), and given the impossibility of upgrading the SB2 SSD, I'd need the stratospherically priced top variant.

After scouring Craigslist for a while, I eventually managed to negotiate a pretty decent deal -- brand new, sealed SB 2 15 / 16 GB / 1 TB for $1,700. Then I went over to the MS Store to add MS Complete, so all in, a bit under $2,000 total.

So far quite happy with this. The screen is incredible, keyboard is great, performance is solid all around, and battery life is very impressive.

Not quite sure about the tablet use case yet. The clipboard is quite light, but it's of course large for a tablet - will have to see if I'm comfortable doing sofa reading on this. I've tried a bit of VR on it so far - will have to spend some time tweaking performance settings to optimize things with the Odyssey (on my Ryzen / 1080 Ti desktop, that's not a concern- just slide everything to max!).

Might add another 512 GB storage at some point if I get a good deal on the newish Samsung 512 GB MicroSD card (only the Amazon-exclusive Evo Select branded version seems to have launched in the US thus far; currently still $200 on Amazon, or gray-market import of the Evo Plus for $150).

Thanks for confirming that.

I have ordered from US site and this is the link

Looking at the model number it looks same as yours. Let's see mine will arrive tomorrow.

Is this a good price for this memory card? Is this a good memory card for the switch?

I was able to very recently pick up a 512GB Micro SD Card for $89, which was a worthwhile investment for me because my digital library has expanded greatly since I got my switch at launch (I’m at about 90 games now, with I think 16 physical)

However, I also see that this 400GB Micro SD Card is on sale for $56.99 right now. If you don’t think the extra $32 is worth the extra 112GB (I don’t blame you) then that’s an absolute steal. Prices on Micro SD cards have dropped by an average of over 30% in the last month by my estimate.

I will say you probably don’t want to get a “phone case” type case for your switch due to the fact that you need to dock it. Invest in a good Tempered Glass Screen Protector , and get a good Carrying Case . I use and highly recommend the ones linked. The carrying case is a perfect fit for the switch without holding the joycons too tightly; it straps the switch in with velcro. The 12 game cart capacity and the elastic cart holders is also the best solution I’ve seen in any case. I am able to put joycon straps and headphones in the little pocket without worrying about anything hitting the switch, since the game cart flap is soft on the back and acts as a barrier between the two. The tempered glass screen protector has lasted me two years without a scratch.

EDIT: as a further note, the theoretical limit to the switch’s SD capacity is 4TB but micro SD cards only go up to 1TB at the time of writing, and those cost $449

If you were wanting a usb flash drive, the only name brand one that I know that goes up to 512gb is Corsair, but you’re really paying out for that price.
Alternatively, if your machine has and SD slot, you could go for a Samsung Evo SD, which is a slightly more reasonable price.
