Ok, so I do have 1 question: The game boy only turns on when the usb is plugged in. Does everything look right? The only thing I can think of is I might have bad dsi batteries.

edit: ok I think I may have been sent the wrong board. I ordered this, but the one I got has a micro b port

You will need a charger that supports LiPo batteries. Here's the cheapest solution.

I don't buy much from amazon now, they are a little over priced in many cases... But here are amazon links to things I've used in the past that all get the job done well.

1/4 x 1/8 magnets for the cover http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008PGMG58/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_recftb0T3KWCC

1/8 x 1/32 magnets I put in the box http://www.amazon.com/dp/104800001X/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_6ncftb060AZJS

A cheap 1amp mini USB charger, most micro USB chargers are only 500ma http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HJNX0DU/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_kncftb1XHMGQ2

Volt display http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D76EJAG/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_Uicftb0VSS4AW

You can wire up those in your mod, but the charger can only charge a single cell or parallel cells, not if they are in series... But since you are going unregulated, then if you did do 2 batteries then you would wire them in parallel anyways.

Good luck and have fun! Building is great!
