what worked temporarily for me was using some of my diabetes supplies. I had about 5 different colors of ear socks for my Flak 2.0 sunglasses and all of them looked crappy after years. it worked and lasted for probably around 2-3 weeks. they got a little tacky but nothing like it originally was. they're cheap enough to replace. YMMV.
 
I used Unisolve. It helps remove the adhesive on my insulin pump sites. I tried the hot water, alcohol, boiling them, dish soap and nothing removed how sticky they were. I tried this on a cotton ball and it worked.

Skin Tac is a liquid glue you brush on the skin and allow to partially dry before inserting an infusion set or sensor. It sticks very, very well and and insures your site will never fall off.
Personally, I use UniSolve to remove the sites. I gently wet the adhesive part of the site with it and wait about 30 seconds before pulling the site off. No muss, no fuss.
