I like using Tri-Flow( https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Flow-TF20006-Superior-Lubricant-12-Ounce/dp/B000SKY3GO/ref=pd_bxgy_468_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=880WYQZCV7837ES7AP86)

It works well as a lubricant and it does not eat away at plastics unlike some other "lock" specific lubes out there.

I use Tri-Flow on all my cables rather than cable lubes. I'm not saying it's better or worse, but in my experience it's serviced that need well and it's one less thing to keep 'in stock' in the garage.

Buy a spray can of Tri-Flow and start spraying things til it goes away.

I spray my chamber and barrel liberally with a CLP spray (currently using Ballistol, am also a big fan of Strike Hold and Tri-Flow) and let it sit for a few minutes before using the boresnake. It never comes out without lots of black carbon on it. I run the boresnake through maybe three or four times, then it is good to go. I am thinking you are running yours through dry. Give the barrel a spray with your favorite cleaner/solvent first and see if it doesn't make a difference.

Should be written on the side of the tires. DO NOT pump your tires at a gas station. My right ear is still ringing from the explosion.

> wd40 on the chain

It would be more beneficial for the longevity of your bike parts if you used bicycle-specific lubricant, as WD40 is designed to strip away lubricaton, thereby drying out parts that need grease/lubricant.

If the bike shop says it needs a tune up, than it probably does. It would cost you upwards of $60. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but they secretly hate you for buying a new bike from CL rather than them, so don't listen to them when they tell you it needs a gang of new parts.
