Also note

  1. Mu One extremely small 45W charger with very nifty international charger heads.
  2. RAVpower 45w this is the exact same charger without the nifty heads, just a folding US plug.

These are, by far the smallest chargers.

Finally, the new RAVpower 61w is not as small as the Innergie it's still small, adds a USB A and costs a third of that.

I LOVE this one from RavPower:

It’s 75g, and I use it when I travel with my 13” macbook pro, nintendo switch, and/or surface go. It charges all of those without issue, as well as my iPhone, apple watch, etc.

It’s lighter because it uses a new tech instead of your standard silicone design, from what I understand.

What you are doing is dangerous, I strongly recommend you just throw that dongle away.

You CANNOT go from USB Type-C to any other type of port with a dongle. That is explicitly forbidden by the USB spec for good reason, as USB C can supply such high amounts of charge, converting blindly to other ports can cause fires.

The short answer to your problem, is you're going to need to buy a USB Type-C to mini/micro USB cable, and not a dongle. The cable will know it's only a mini/micro port and be incapable of charging at the full USB Type-C speeds, but it will charge your speaker properly.

The dongle you own is trying to trick the USB C cable into working with a different type of port, which is why it could be very dangerous because the USB cable itself doesn't know what type of charge to properly send.

If you want to use a dongle, you have to go the other direction, with micro/mini to USB C, which will then limit USB C to the slow charge speed that the cable can actually handle.

EDIT: Just to note, since your pictures are very vague. If that Samsung charger does not have a detachable cable, you'll also need a different charger, where the USB C cable is detachable.

Here are some suggestions to get you down to just a single charger and 1/2 cables:

I couldn't get this to charge from modern PD usb-c chargers, like these 3: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RFKY1PT

It does charge when plugged into my macbook or via a usb to usb-c cable to something like an older samsung phone charger.

You can tuck the first one in between pretty much anything else on a power strip. It is small, and it'll keep up with power draw unless you're playing heavy games all the time. Even at that, your system's battery can cover the power deficit for a looong time.

You might also want the second one for its flatness (great in your laptop's bag), and how it can tuck in to an outlet buried behind furniture. At 45 watts it should always be on top of your laptop's draw. (I have both for my L480)

No - this one. Looks like the white is on sale... I tried pulling up my order to see how much I originally paid but it's not coming up. I picked up the black one a while back - and the picture now looks glossy, at least on the sides. Mine is completely matte. It appears to be the same product, though. DO note that the 12V contract is 3A, so that'll max out at 36W - you'll want to get the 15V cable in that case. Check out the pictures for an idea of the size - I bought a handful of highly rated PD chargers and that's the one I carry around with me when I travel. Looks like Anker is also selling a similar one now, but it's 30W max.

Yep - Agree completely on the Surface Pen. I think hardware wise it's totally fine, it's just the SW integration is never pen first on Windows that I've found. If you find a good app, it's kind of a pain on moving the files around from a "workflow" perspective.

I'm not a huge fan of the apple "way" either - but the focus on user experience (and restraint) has me at least exploring. Not sure I'll be sticking with all the devices in the long run, but for now the iPad Pro has been surprisingly usable. I'm trying to challenge my limiting mindset preference for Windows as "I use it because it's what I've always used" - if my experiment actually reveals macOS is worse for my needs, I'll switch back (at least on desktop/"real" OS side).

Anyways, good luck!

Edit: Just for completeness - the cable I used looks like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Kissmart-Surface-Connector-Charging-Requires/dp/B07RWJCR3F
I want to say I got the J-go one, but my order isn't showing up... I must have placed it on an old work account :(

I remember reading some of these cables have a problem where they are powered up before connecting to the surface, so it can have a dangerous short - definitely read the reviews. The new ones seem a LOT cheaper - maybe they've fixed issues and gone more mass market...
