As for the desk, I was in the same spot as you before I added a second monitor. The desk isn't quite as wobbly as the non solid wood tabletop i had before but it's definitely not ideal. I will be upgrading the legs eventually. I would recommend getting more stable legs for the solid wood tops or using the drawer units.

I have this one with a 34" UW and a 15" 16:9 in portrait. I imagin you can fit a 29" and a 24" on just fine
You can use one, grab a "gas spring mount". With a gas spring monitor arm/mount you'll be able to adjust the heights very easily and put them exactly where you want.

I bought mine a couple years ago and just kept it because it did what I needed to do without breaking the bank. They're honestly both really good mounts depending on what you're looking for.
