If you are not experienced being on pointe you will not get over the box of the shoes and the pictures will look awful. That will ruin the effect you want. Also, breaking in shoes take some work and if you don't you will have that flat sole look that is seen below.

My recommendation is to buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Danzcue-Adult-Split-Ballet-Slipper/dp/B01MTKMUGW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1480703503&sr=8-5&keywords=white+pointe+shoes and add white satin ribbon and just do a tendu for pictures.

I don't want to ruin your night but...

these review pictures are terrifying

(and what is with the random knock off Sanshas? I need to exit this rabbit hole)

Definitely look into ballroom shoes. They are designed to be worn and supportive for long periods of time/lots of activity, and the heels come in all sorts of different heights, typically lower than standard shoes. And you can get them in all kids of fancy designs.

These, these, or these are a couple good options.

OMG they do flashing ones for adults

Look into buying dancing shoes! They will be available in size 4.5 at least, and even the girl sizes shouldn't look too childish/girlie.

You can put stick on soles on the bottom of any shoes to make them slide more easily for dancing.

My standard practice shoes are the brand Very Fine its one of the cheaper brands that still have a name. My other practice shoes have all been off-brand China cheapies and they're fine.

I've never had a brand of practice shoes last any longer than another (when considering the amount of time each individual pair has been danced in). But overall my shoes started lasting quite a while after I had multiple pairs.

Honestly I'd order something with prime and free returns like these:

So I have a serious eye for color!

Some recommendations would be a slacks with cardigan approach. Better for the fall months, but some colorful slacks such as these would definitely spruce things up! I have a similar pair, I usually match with a dark gray cardigan.

For days when you don't fear a visit from Mother Nature, these pants paired with a darker top and a scarf or gold necklace would look great!

For hotter days, a nice pencil skirt would do well! It's nice because you can get bold beautiful colors, which will keep you feeling young but also give off a professional vibe.

I also recommend a character shoe because they are comfortable, low heel, and will go with everything and anything.

For tops, a simple button-down shirt or blouse such as this will do. You can also accessorize with necklaces. You can find easy stuff on ebay or Forever 21. Here's a good example.

And in case you get cold? Cardigans. You can find something beautiful, stylish, and professional that will keep you warm in harsher weather (and air conditioning).

Finally, pick whatever feels comfortable. I only linked certain stores because that's what came up. Really, it's up to you what makes you comfortable and confident. You need to really know what you want, and go get it. Your fashion style is your own and no one can change what you like and dislike. Also, you will find things in different stores you may like, you will find them for cheaper and they will make you feel more assured then anything online could.

Good luck!!!

I am a 7.5 street shoe, narrow feet. I wear an 8B in these.

Can you go get fitted?
Edit: never mind! Different style. This is the Bloch slipper I wear, half a size up from street shoe

These are what I was more a fan of. One on my turning foot just seemed to work better for me personally, but other people hate them.

You can buy straps on amazon

I had a huge problem with this, and tape just keeps coming off.

I used these when I had open wounds:

They look horrible, and people will make fun, but they work.

I haven’t had an issue in over a year so it does go away.

I was just going to say this. Dance heels are designed to stay on your foot no matter what and provide you with excellent support. I was dancing in character shoes from when I was 10, but you can find prettier styles if you look for ballroom dancing shoes

Do NOT buy stilettos right off the bat, those are harder to balance in.

You might also consider starting with a boot that has a solid square heel
