That's great. When our dog got older, we found that they sell large dog stroller on Amazon (like this one). Worked wonderfully - we'd walk over an hour every night and he'd sit in there barking at everyone. It was such a boost to his mood to be able to go on long walks again. One of the stroller we had for another dog was such a perfect size - we could just take the handle bar off and put in the back of our CR-V and take her to her vet appointments without having to move her into/out of the stroller for the trip. Made life so much easier. Great job!

Instead of doing the backpack idea, I chose to get a stroller. I paid roughly the same price. I can even fit about 3 normal sized cats in mine. My cats go CRAZY for it. They hate leashes, so I knew that wasn’t an option for my two outside-crazed boys.

This stroller was a game changer. I’ve had it for almost two years now and I do not regret it one bit. It even folds up nicely for storage.

I don't know this exact stroller but unless your dog is absolutely massive, this stroller seems like it would fit a large dog.

I got it from Amazon, it's Pet Gear No Zip version (there's a version with zippers but I prefer this one that has a latch). They have a lite version, but I have the regular one (review said it's more roomy). I'm super happy with it. There's also one with huge wheels if you're into jogging (I am not). :)

Lol, no, that's the problem. If he were little I probably would have done it sooner or just carry him. He's about 75 pounds pit bull mix. Had no idea they made strollers for dogs that big but was in the yard and this couple cruised by with one and I got so excited!

There is negative part of story here but let's skip it in honor of this post.

Stroller arrived today and we spent all evening practicing and we did it! By 9pm we were strolling down the sidewalk. Many treats were ate. We got home I asked if he wants to do that again in the morning and he got excited. Successful!

You can use strollers in a small place if you’re walking outside. In fact, a small town is better than a big city for stroller usage - less people and traffic.

I put my cat on a harness and we keep our outings to the deck. He likes to bird watch but he will roll over just like yours. Walking him is damn near impossible.

We're having a baby in a couple of weeks and I was not-so-jokingly recommending to my husband that we get one of those cat strollers so we can take baby and kitty on walks together.

It works great for bunnies! Dogs might be too big, but two buns fit perfect (my guys are 6lbs and 2.5lbs and they have room to turn and but get snuggly). Its great because you can carry it, push it on the stroller cart, and put it in the car. Traveling with buns has always been an issue, especially if our ducks are coming along (and the ducks actually love going out places). We really wanted a stroller so we wouldn't have to jerk the bunnies around in a carrier, but moving them from a carrier to a stroller in the open seemed unsafe. This is great because they can go in the carrier and stay it in while being pushed about and being moved into the car. I tore my rotator cuff a year ago and still have issues with being able to carry stuff, so pushing them is much easier! It's also low to the ground so they don't mind the movement. We used it this weekend for our shelter's fundraising "spa day" where yoy bring in pets to be groomed, checked over, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, they get a massage, and they get their pictures taken (this time was valentine's themed- those pics coming soon!). It worked out great bringing the ducks along too!

Have you considered something like this? Since your Boxer can't really play outside anymore, it might be nice to go on a "walk" together where he can relax and lay down the whole time. I think he'd enjoy just being in the sunshine with you.

This is the same brand I got for my dog and it has been really nice.

This stroller says it holds up to 75 lbs and looks no bigger than a standard stroller...may need to pick her up to get her in there, but it looks plenty roomy.

This one is lower to the ground and says it holds up to 150lbs.

It was $50 off of Amazon. There's a little pad that comes with it. Haven't had a chance to take it for a stroll yet, but my car has already started getting in and out of it.
