Two words, hockey pucks!

If you are on a budget, they work great. Used them under speakers, AV component, etc.

Go to lots public skates and and stick and pucks.

For stickhandling at home, I like to use a smart hockey stickhandling ball, has some weight to it and will roll so it simulates a puck decently well. You can also get a green biscuit, and/or use a slick board you can get from home depot as a stickhandling pad with actual pucks, thrify white board I think it's called.

Here's a couple of stickhandling drills videos:

Plenty more drills and tips on youtube and this sub if you search around. Coach Jeremy (/u/howtohockeydotcom, who started this sub) has a ton of great videos on his channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDGB6MoY1PIuX5oHJSH9Cgg

Velcro + Actual hockey puck. You're welcome.

Also if you live in an apartment or are a night owl with room mates, this foam puck - Works great on carpet and is basically completely silent. The downside of course is the weight is that it weights almost nothing and there's no tactile feedback so you don't get as good of practice, but you can shoot it, so there's a benefit there.

I thought of that, but I also live in FL

Haven't tried glow in the dark paint, but they make these. http://www.amazon.com/Lit-Biscuit-Lighted-Hockey-Puck/dp/B00BDF4F0C

A bit expensive but they seem worth it.

I would probably work on stick handling and wrist shots.. Easy to do in your backyard, fun, and focused repetitive practice translates directly on ice. In fact its very hard to improve on ice generally speaking unless you have access to a lot of ice time where you aren't playing.

If you can find a buddy, work on passing too (or pretend some object is another hockey player).

I personally prefer a roller hockey puck like the below since my driveway is concrete. If your surface is rougher like asphalt you might consider a ball or green biscuit instead.

at 1 ounce, the number of physical pucks doesn't change that much but weight is no longer a factor, as even 16,000 of them would be less than the payload capacity.

Don’t buy the pucks, make ‘em, real easy. Takes about 10mins, only needs a screws/screwdriver. They fit perfectly.

Costco rotation and winter tire exchanges are super cheap, and they have the right lift gear, used to Tesla’s etc.

On smooth pavement, like a proper playground or my garage, I use either a Franklin SlideComp Puck or an actuall roller hockey puck, both are acceptable for practice.

Awesome! Post results when its all set up.

As for those puck cubes, if you wanted to go that route, these are probably the best deal I could find on the webs at just over a buck each. http://www.amazon.com/Hockey-Puck-Display-Square-Holder/dp/B0037A6CHK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450760318&sr=8-1&keywords=puck+cubes

This is the best deal found for the puck/card displays. It would be a good call to see how much combined shipping is on more than one, because it sucks paying the same for shipping as the item, and I don't think these would be a good deal at 13 bucks for 1. They usually cost 3 for 20 or less at sports card shows if you have any of those going on locally

Damn those look fun and are def a great price man! Sorry I'm not on here too much on the weekends, mainly on work days lol. One thing i would say tho, I have the same gloves but the tye die and love them, but I switched out the puck for a soap bar. Check it out. They help a lot more, especially when learning not to put your fingers down. Pucks are great, but eventually a soap bar is an incredible upgrade!

Glue a neodymium magnet to a command hook. Or a literal hockey puck, as /u/machinehead933 said. For bonus points, use air hockey pusher paddles.
