A small decorative fabric box, laid on the floor with the opening facing the toilet. Then cover the opening with another cloth, like a curtain.

Bonus, you can store toilet paper in there, too.

Also, as for storage capacity. It doesn't take as much room as you think. I use this sort of system If you use your vertical space too, storage is easier than you would think.

I bought 3 of those and I set them up to be 4 bottles wide and 3 bottles tall. I haven't measured exactly how wide it is, but I'd say it's 12-14 feet wide and about 3.5 - 4 feet tall.

That would store 36 of those bottles (180 gallons) along just one wall of a spare bedroom or something. I just keep mine around 30 because I like to keep a gap between my oldest and newest bottles to ensure I keep drinking the older ones first to rotate it out and keep it fresher.

I keep a few of these around too. That is how I use the water jugs when power is out. When I have power I've got the type of set up you see offices where it's a powered unit that dispenses the water hot or cold.

If you're looking to upgrade to nicer bins, check out Kuggis from Ikea: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10280203/

They are beautiful.

Kuggis sizes didn't work for me, so I got an assortment of these from Amazon: amazon.com/gp/product/B07J4YHKRZ I like that I was able to get 3 different sizes, but they are the same pattern and color so they still look nice together.

Make sure to look up the difference between a critter nation and a DOUBLE critter nation. This one is a double, but I have a single, which is essentially just the bottom half. The single can fit up to 6 rats comfortably.

For OP - I totally recommend some small plastic baskets that you can zip-tie to the walls of the cage to make more levels. Then you can put bits of fleece in there. Mine lose their minds when I add little basket levels :)

Here’s something similar to what I used - https://www.amazon.com/Honla-Weaving-Plastic-Storage-Organizer/dp/B06XWT3YT9

If you have room for a shallow bin or two, you can fold underwear and socks so that they are filed and easy to grab. It just takes more effort beforehand. I recently reorganized my drawers this way and it freed up so much space and made everything more organized.

Another idea is to have these hanging shelves somewhere: http://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-6351-1234-JAVA-Organizer-Collection-Accessory/dp/B001KMRZ0U/

You can buy bins and then consequently organize your underwear and shirts like the previous video shown.

Only hang what you need to, like suits, dresses, and jackets.

Just a few suggestions. 1 your tv needs to go up a bit. I like this stand. I hate the tiny feet. It’s easy to attach. Universal Swivel TV Stand/Base Table Top TV Stand 27 to 55 inch TVs 80 Degree Swivel, 4 Level Height Adjustable, Heavy Duty Tempered Glass Base, Holds up to 99lbs Screens, HT04B-001 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9PLP48/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_q-J2Db2JB3PCE For the bed. Bed skirts don’t tend to work out. Use a fitted sheet instead. It’ll give a better look at a cheap price. If you decide to get a bed frame you could put your tv on the dresser. A shelving unit might help. I use boxes with lids to keep things uncluttered. First official post here. Wanted to share my 2017 Mazda3 Sport GS Automatic in Soul Red Metallic. Named her after Julianne Moore. I bought my 3 last June from Jeff Holley at Mazda of Toronto - like so many others, can't recommend this man enough.

I cleaned her up in time for Spring (Ontario, the snow is finally all melting after the recent brutal ice storm), picked up my summer rims and tires yesterday from Allen at Simply Tire in Toronto, and took a bunch of exterior and interior photos for you lovely folks:

See Photos Here

In case anybody is interested in some of the things I've since added to my 3, I'm including links!

Wheels: RTX Envy Black Machined Bronze 17x7.5 40mm offset

Tires: Hankook Ventus S1 Noble H452 215/50/17

Scuff Plates: Mazda OEM Scuff Plates

Hatch Sill Guard: Mazda OEM Rear Bumper Guard

Mats: Mazda OEM All-Weather Floor Mats

Hatchback Mat: Mazda OEM Cargo Tray

Dash Cam: Aukey DR02-CA 1080p Dash Cam (routed through the headliner, down through the driver's side weather stripping and hardwired into the fusebox)

Start/Stop Button Red Ring: Found on eBay for $3 CAD!

Alloy Gas/Brake/Dead Pedals: Also found on eBay for around $30 CAD, no drilling required

Phone Mount: iOttie Easy One Touch 3 mounted to the side of the storage space under the A/C controls. (Incredibly sturdy, clever mount/unmount mechanism, and hardly moves when on the road.)

Trunk Crate: CleverMade 46 Litre CleverCrate (Found at a much lower price and in red at Costco)

Hope you like!

RE: shelfs- you can find some fairly affordable bins that would make your closet look more put together. Inside, you can put sweaters, scarfs, swimwear etc. They won't fall out that way.

Example from Amazon-
https://www.amazon.com/Royexe-Features-Foldable-Organizer-Organizers/dp/B0751JRNLH

I also personally like organizing my hanging clothes by colour. But other people organize via type, or even frequency of usage. (So if you are putting something back in after just washing- goes to the front of the closet. At the end of six months- any clothes that haven't been worn will be at the end of the closet, and can maybe be downsized/ given away/ sold / mended.)

u/sandyblue22 · 2 pointsr/OrganizationPorn

Amazon! They're awesome- they're a sturdy cloth like material.

Ditch that dark corner shelf and get some nice over-toilet storage (one | two) that you can organize with baskets, bins, folded towels, etc. Weed out any bath products you're not using.

Replace the curtains with something more modern and light (one | two)! You could even just put some privacy film over the window so you don't lose any light. Add a hanging plant or lantern (to warm up the lighting) to the corner above the toilet, and a tall laundry basket or wastebasket next to the sink.

As others have mentioned, a rug is a great idea - they also make ones that fit around toilets (one | two).

u/OwnBlue · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

It's an awesome table but it's very modern looking so doesn't fit the mid-century vibe you got going on a whole lot. I think it would fit better with less clutter so it's not 'competing' with so much other stuff.

If this was my space I'd grab some storage baskets instead of having everything on display. All the pieces you have are really cool but you could easily put about 50-75% of it away and probably wouldn't notice.

u/zoeags1188 · 1 pointr/DesignMyRoom

Try to de-clutter and sort as much as you can. It'll probably help if you google Konmari and watch some videos of people organizing (not just decluttering) closets.

Like the other person said, it'll help if you put in some additional shelves from the hardware store.

If you have the budget for it, get matching hangers for hanging clothes and some storage bins for folded clothes to make if look more organized and cohesive. Below are some links for examples.

Velvet hangers: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Velvet-Suit-Hangers-30-Pack/dp/B00FXNABPI/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=velvet+hangers&qid=1571428595&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExU0hHM1hPRE0xU0kwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODU3MTM4MkowTUI5NEgwUVM3TiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODM5MzA5Rzc0TFdOVDBEOVRTJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

These are great because compared to plastic ones, the clothes are more likely to stay in place and less likely to slip off

Fabric storage bins: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Velvet-Suit-Hangers-30-Pack/dp/B00FXNABPI/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=velvet+hangers&qid=1571428595&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExU0hHM1hPRE0xU0kwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODU3MTM4MkowTUI5NEgwUVM3TiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODM5MzA5Rzc0TFdOVDBEOVRTJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Personally, I prefer clothes folded side by side (Horizontally) instead of stacked on top of each other (vertically) because you can see everything you own and are less likely to mess up the rest of your clothes looking for a specific shirt.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

For the top shelf, try to get storage bins that you can label (Ideally big labels so you can see them clearly) . the stuff in here should ideally be things you don't use daily.

Storage bins with labels: https://www.amazon.com/Royexe-Features-Foldable-Organizer-Organizers/dp/B074WLYBXB/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=cloth+storage+cubes+label&qid=1571429113&s=home-garden&sr=1-1

Either that or, assuming you have a vacuum, get a vacuum storage bag. you can fit more and it should look less cluttered as well. Just make sure that the bag isn't wider than the depth of your closet otherwise the overhang will make it look bad.

Vacuum Bag: https://www.amazon.com/Spacesaver-Premium-Storage-Cleaner-Bacteria/dp/B01ICEEHUO/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=2RB1V6EU9A0DI&keywords=vacuum+bags+for+storage&qid=1571429221&s=home-garden&sprefix=vacuum+bag%2Cgarden%2C196&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyUFQ3NlRSUEExQUhPJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODE3MzAwMjc4VzNUOFpaSlE4QyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDE2NTU2TjhOQzBMSDMwSDQ2JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

If you want to get real nit picky about this, depending on how tall you are, it might also help to get a small stepstool you can hide in the closet. So you dont get lazy about putting stuff on the top shelf.

There's a handle on 'em. Place a command hook on the same area as your hanging clothes and store it there.

Step Stool: https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Anti-Slip-Surface-Kitchen-Bathroom/dp/B077392LCQ/ref=sr_1_13_sspa?keywords=step+ladder+small&qid=1571429502&s=home-garden&sr=1-13-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyNlhSVE5VRUFIQ1ZRJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzE5NjU0RTkwSlc5ME9MWk9WJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwOTQwMDI4VFZBNjlCMlFQU0Emd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

  3. HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset - https://smile.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Stinger-Gaming-Headset/dp/B01L2ZRYVE; this headset is connected to my computer, for gaming or if I just feel like using these instead of the speakers I will mention again sometime in the future.

  4. The Anchor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P31BMHG/; this headphone mount sticks under the Ikea table I had mentioned earlier. Once mounted, I rest my two headphones on to them. When not in use, of course.

  5. Generic, black folding TV Tray - from Fancy Red Walmart; I use this tray to hold phone, drinks, or whatever else I'd like it to hold.

  6. Green bowl with spoon-shaped silverware, with a folder paper towel undereath - this was gifited to me, thanks Auntie!; before this photo was taken, this bowl was used to house Cocoa Pebbles and Whole Milk. It no longer houses said things, as they are now digesting in my vessel.

  7. Pint glass - from Frederick Meyer; this pint glass was most recently used to hold drinking water poured from my Britta pitcher, with water that comes from my kitchen sink.

  8. SONGMICS 3-tier Storage Cube Closet Organizer Shelf - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GDR3HHG/

  9. SimpleHouseware Foldable Cube Storage Bin, Dark Grey - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GKPGJH/; Items 8 and 9 are used together for storage of items unrelated to this posting.

  12. Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller - this is the controller I use when I want to use a controller for gaming

  13. Logitech G400 Optical Gaming Mouse - https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Optical-Gaming-Mouse-910-002277/dp/B0055QZ216; my second-favorite mouse - with my first being the Logitech MX518. I love the shape of these mouses.

  14. Generic mouse pad I got off of Amazon. My mouse doesn't work without it.

  15. Bluetooth speaker that I use to connect to my phone and bring to the bathroom with me when I take a shower.

  16. CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R Mid-Tower Gaming Case - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079K1W3KB/; inside this case is my computer. What's inside the case doesn't matter for this post, as this is about my battlestation, not my computer.

  17. A Bounty paper towel roll. The Quicker Picker Upper.

  18. Talking Dalek Bank - https://smile.amazon.com/Underground-Toys-Doctor-Talking-Dalek/dp/B009Y7F744; this Dalek holds my change, while giving me threatening threats.

  19. A penguin.

  20. A flashlight. I use this when I take my dog out for walks and it is dark out. Because I don't have night vision.

  21. Below the flashlight is a container that once held M&M's. The lid of the container is shaped like the blue M&M named Blue's face. The container is currently empty.

  22. A lunch box that looks like a TARDIS - https://smile.amazon.com/Doctor-Who-TARDIS-Tote-Gift/dp/B0093DJ7LS; I don't actually use this for lunch. I use it to hold random things. Yes, it's bigger on the inside.

  23. ASUS VZ27AQ Monitor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HMSZ4S/; this is a 27-inch monitor that outputs video at a resolution of 2560x1140.
u/theWinterDojer · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have a wall mounted studio monitor that the power cable barely reaches down to, so it's mainly to accommodate for that. I honestly wasn't even thinking about the contact with the carpet being an issue, but I guess I'd like to have it isolated either way in case static could pose a threat.

I stumbled upon these.. I might just flip them upside down and call it a day. Sorta the dimensions I was looking for.

u/alexlovesquadrupeds · 1 pointr/zines

I store my regular floppies in these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4I66JJ
but am having trouble finding something similar for my generally 5 - 7 inch wide zines. I like the transparency.

u/GummyTumor · 1 pointr/learnart

I keep most of my pens, pencils, airbrush equipment, markers, inks, and smaller items inside these, I like the black ones, and the larger/oddly shaped items like spray paint, gesso, palettes, and acrylics get tossed into these folding canvas boxes you can find pretty much anywhere now. I can fit one of each side by side on my shelves and they keep everything neat and organized. I have 4 of the canvas containers and 3 of the Sterilite drawers along side all my art books and video games on these dinky waist high shelves I got at Target. You'd be surprised how much stuff you can cram into them.

My drawing desk is just a smallish dinner table I bought for $10 bucks, best deal ever! On it, I keep a rotating pencil holder from Office Depot that holds my brushes, rulers, and nib holders. I also have a few jars of water for water coloring, two lamps, and some of those wooden hands/mannequins for still lifes on there. I nailed some nails to the side of the table to hang a pencil case filled with the essentials for when I'm traveling or want to paint/sketch outside, I also have some nails for artist's tape, my heat gun, and a dust brush.

I generally don't work on paper larger than 9x12, so most of my pads of paper and sketch books go right in my shelf standing up.

I can't stand working in a messy studio or losing any of my supplies, so having multiple drawers and boxes where I can just throw things into and sort them out later is perfect for me. I really recommend the Sterilite drawers. They have them at Target and Walmart and come in different colors.

u/HowQuestionMark · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Throwing out a few ideas.

Starting with the pine countertop. Apply a contact paper such as this marble one to add a more refined look. Choose a contact paper that is made for countertops and matches your home. Consider something similar to your bathroom or kitchen counters. There are many styles of contact paper such a tile and stained wood. I would also add table legs like these to stabilize the countertop, especially for my next suggestion. Make sure the countertop sits at least a couple of inches above your washer and dryer (I know it seems like a no brainer but just in case).

To help distract away from everything thats going on, I would add a cube shelving unit like this one. Use fabric cube boxesto store your detergent and other cleaning supplies. They come in different colors and designs. Make sure you order the right size for your shelving unit. This idea would help visually clean up the space. If you decided to do this, I would remove the wall shelf. I would not suggest doing this without attaching table legs to the pine.

Throw up a tension rod with a neutral curtain to divide off the room. I would use rings since fabric on rod isn’t good for constant movement. If your home calls for it or you’re into some extra, look into decorative hooks.

Hopefully my suggestions will help you create a great laundry room that fits your needs and requests.

Sorry for your loss. I like the render a lot I think if you made your room look that it would be really nice. It doesn't look overly modern but does look clean in a good way. If you get white curtains and bedspread it'll keep it light looking. When you have all your items in there it'll make it more homey too.

For the flag as others have said frame it but also iron it!

I see lots of 'things' so I'd get some storage bins like this to keep stuff out of site. Can also store stuff like the TV console electronics in these. You need some more shelves so the things you want to display aren't crammed together.

Personally, for the memorial shelf I'd try to take most of the loose leaf items like photos, tickets, notes, etc. and arrange them in a photo book together. In the render I like the wall shelves and think you could dedicate a large one, or few smaller shelves, to hold up and display the rest of the items.

For making things aesthetically pleasing pick a style and color scheme and be consistent. Have a primary, secondary, and accent color. If you have wood on your furniture match the color with the shelves and picture frames. If you have bedding match it with your curtains, pillows, rugs, etc. Also pick a few items you want to be the main eye catchers - like the flag above the bed or the 'We are all created equal' painting on the shelf. With so many colors surrounding them they get kinda drowned out but if you want those to really pop and draw the eyes towards it try surrounding them with muted color items. You'll have to experiment but I'd start with painting the walls and laying out the furniture and go for there. You may decide things are too light or too dark and decorate around that.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I am not a huge fan of these systems, as there is so much wasted space! I have no problem putting a dresser in a closet. We have 4-drawer dressers in two bedroom closets.

All of our current closets and pantry came fitted with basic Closet Maid wire shelving, and that's fine with me. We have canvas or fabric sweater and shoe organisers and some boxes that fit in the sweater one. I use banker's boxes or plastic storage bins on the upper shelves. I also make use of doubling rods, basically a short closet rod on two long hooks, so shirts can be hung on upper and lower rods.

btw, if you are set on a closet-shelving system, check your lease, and verify that you can remove it when you leave. Some leases require that anything attached to the walls becomes the property of the landlord. This protects them from having huge holes left in the walls.

If that is the case, be sure that the system you choose will leave only clips attached, which you would leave behind while taking all the expensive pieces with you!

I have these under my bed. They're very helpful and I use them to store my video games/CDs/knickknack crap. We also have them(with a cubby) in my computer room that holds our towels, cleaning products, and art supplies. You can also put labels on them to make it easier to know what is what with having to pull the entire thing out. :P

Little boxes on the hillside ! Good luck with your move :)
