Not at all.

Maybe you haven't seen these?

The ones I'm wondering about are this one, and this one

I've run using teva/teva clones and the likes in the past and they're fantastic for me. Keeps your feet cool and easy to clean and maintain. Just wear them into the shower.

edit let's add one more.

I tried custom orthopedic inserts for a year and it did nothing for me! I finally caved and bought a pair of orthopedic sneakers from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Gravity-Defyer-Proven-Relief-Womens/dp/B079ZL4SB9

They are amazing! They do give you a lot of height bc there's a bulky Arch and heel so I wouldn't squat or deadlift in them. But for everyday walking these are my go to. Within a week I went from excruciating pain to moderate pain. Within a couple months I was pain free! I remember when I couldn't even go grocery shopping without feeling pain from walking around. Now I've had super long days where I'm on my feet and I hardly have any discomfort.

I've also invested in orthopedic sandals. Vionic is my go to brand. I bought these for a wedding and theyre my go to shoes if it's not appropriate to wear sneakers. Also have them in black too. I plan on just buying vionic shoes from now on.

Running barefoot often helps teach proper running technique. Don't assume you can run as far as you can with shoes though initially. Start slow with low mileage. Slowly build up as your feet adjust.

Also save up for some minimal shoes. I'm currently running in these and they feel great. Very similar to barefoot, yet with a nice thin layer of rubber to protect from glass, metal, sharp rocks, etc.

Another great option for cheap.

The term that's finding the closest results is "platform sandal" though I see some retailers calling them "wedge sandals."

This is the closest to your source image I can find.

Edit: the specific shoes in your image are Bamboo Platform Sandals via Amazon.

I know it sounds crazy but they do make some shoes that you would never think are crocs. The rubber is just so cushy and supportive.

Unfortunately they don't make this style anymore, but it's such a holy grail shoe for me that I have an alert set up on Ebay and buy them basically whenever they show up in my size (I get them in the espresso color). I've worn then every summer for the past 5 years as my primary shoe, because they are perfect for sudden summer storms (they can get wet & won't be ruined! I think of them as my summer rainboots) and they are so comfortable I can go wherever the summer takes me - spontaneous 2 hour walk through the park? Check. Camping trip? Check. Music festival? Check. Pride march? Check. I get compliments all the time - I tell people they are my secret crocs and no one believes me.

So, trying something like this might be worth it? I can only speak for the style I have but really the thing about these fancier styles is the only place it screams "Croc" is when you see the footbed...and when you're wearing them, your foot is covering that part.

I seem to have fallen in love with these clog/sandal hybrids.. I've found pairs I love at Lotta from Sweden, Swedish Hasbeens, and MIA. I honestly was just looking around for a short flatform sandal, but none of the styles I saw were very flattering for someone with short, pale legs. Prob 3 inch heel max - I'd like to be able to wear these on a daily basis. Also, I prefer brown/natural over black or another color, I really just want a neutral sandal that will work with every sundress. I'd say my style is plain but girly?

Anyways! Those with clog experience - what brand do you reccomend? One of the ones I mentioned, or another? Preferably somewhere with easy returns.. Budgetwise, my max is $150 - but I am an avid bargain hunter and take pleasure in finding expensive stuff cheap in a hidden corner of the internet, so don't hold back! Thanks :)

One of my faves at Lotta from Sweden] ... here's another .... and one more!

A swedish hasbeen ... And another ... last one

From MIA

Just to add - this all started because I fell in love with these but can't find them anywhere in my size.. So if you know of any similar to that let me know! I'm picky about these ankle strap sandals because I feel like most of them "cut off" my leg at its worst point, like giving the illusion of me cankles. TIA!!!!

I am not going to lie - the absolute best shoe for me in a 13-hour day 3 days a week for work are croc wedges. They last forever, they're comfortable as all get-out, and I swear I have them in 3 colors. I get them through Amazon. the black, the tan, and the blue/white stripe I own. I waited forever for the blue/white stripe to be on sale because they were WAY MORE than the black or tan! Seriously, check them out! I hear great things about their cute flats for work too, but the wedges don't tear up my feet and show off my nail polish.

Wedges!

Of course you may ask! I bought my shoes at some random shoe store because I really wanted this style - they are the Danskos Maise sandal. I like them quite a bit, but I'm still getting use to picking outfits that work with them.

I've seen some version of these on a few people on the street lately and I can't tell where on the geriatric/cute scale they are but I'm embracing it so likely pulling the trigger next paycheck ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This reminds me I need to find my black Danskos. I used to love wearing them when I was waitressing. They are heavy, but super comfortable and supportive. Where are you planning on wearing them? I've never thought to wear them out with jeans or anything... but in working environments they're great! I do have these which I pull off with jeans and are fun to wear.

I am an avid Amazon shopper lol

Only 1 review, so something to think about..and it's not suede. This is suede, but different ankle strap, no wood heel, and out of stock for most sizes :( This one checks off the suede and wood heel but not the strap detail.
