I put my hair in a ponytail, and put it up inside a silk sleeping cap. I have extremely fine hair, and once my hair started growing out, the tngled mess was a nightmare every morning. Now that is completely gone.

I also treat my hair every night with coconut oil, and that help keep the oil off my pillow cases which are also silk by the way. 💕E

I have some of these things. I needed a half dozen when I had an ear infection last year but I could only find a 100-pack. I am out of town at the moment and will be driving in all day on Sunday. If you want them and can wait until midnight or so on Sunday, they are yours. https://www.amazon.com/100Pcs-Disposable-Clear-Shower-Protector/dp/B00XBN0HA6

I would not use a doo-rag unless you have a fade (I'm assuming you don't?)

A satin pillowcase works for all hair types. If you have straight/straighten your hair, and want to keep it straight, I would recommend doing a wrap and seccuring it with a satin scarf or bonnet.

If you have curly hair throw either on top.

Use a hair band that covers your hairline. Etude house has a cute one. I'll link it asap.

Im a stylist and keep a set of these on hand for clients who can’t get their ears wet. Seems like it would work well for you also. https://www.amazon.com/100Pcs-Disposable-Clear-Shower-Protector/dp/B00XBN0HA6

I shower daily but I cleanse my hair only twice a week. I bought this shower cap on Amazon. Not the cutest, but totally practical. It covers all my hair and water doesn't leak into it (which has been a problem in the past for me).

It allows me to shower without getting my hair wet at all, which is great because my hair gets really wavy if it gets wet. I blow dry / flat iron twice a week after cleansing so I want that sleekness to last until my next cleansing - keeping moisture / water away is paramount. I put my hair up into a high bun, pin back any loose pieces with a bobby-pin and cover my head with the cap.

I have layered shoulder length hair, so many of my strands get loose when I pineapple and I don't tie the scrunchie too tight because that would put a kink into my waves.

I ordered a satin nightcap off of Amazon because I figured that would be cheaper than seven new silk pillowcases (acne prone skin, so I need to change mine daily) and it CHANGED EVERYTHING. Not only does it preserve my curls, but the humidity from my scalp gets trapped in the cap and absorbed into my curls, making them softer!

What I do is I flip my hair up side down, gather it in a scrunchie without twisting it, put my "pineapple" into the silk cap, flip right side up, and then carefully stuff any stands sticking out back in. The way you put it back in the cap matters because if you're not careful to "plop" the strand into the cap, it may come out wonky in the morning because of your weight when you sleep on it.

The only caveat to this method imo is that the cap gets rather hot and humid without AC in the summer (80F at nights where I live) so it might be a little harder for you to sleep. You also look frumpy and my boyfriend giggles everytime he sees it on, but the shed hair on our bed has significantly decreased. :P

Seriously though, this has made second day hair much more attainable for my 2B/2C hair!

This is the nightcap I use. It's pretty cheap, but after two months of use, the elastic has worn so it doesn't stay on as well as it used to. You probably would want to look into getting a better one if you can afford it.

Seconding the buff idea! I have seen many shorter curlies saying they have success with satin bonnets, or a satin scarf, as well.

I got this bonnet from amazon that stays on pretty well. And it's a fun color so I feel better about wearing it around the house sometimes. Hehe. There were lots of other options on amazon and I have heard of people finding them at CVS/Walgreen's as well.

This scarf honestly stays on the best after I learned how to tie it from this video on YouTube where the gal was really excited about her scarf staying on overnight. I had to watch it a couple times to follow what she was doing, but now that I've got it, I see why she is so happy with it. Lol.

Hopefully one of these ideas will work for you. Good luck on your sleeping with curls adventure. Hehe. :-)

My hair frizzes so easily overnight (any time at all), and pineappling didn't help; I just ended up with flat hair on top and frizzy, tangled ends. I got this cap to sleep in, because it doesn't look quite as stupid as a lot of other ones, lol.

It's been a big help! I can usually wear my hair down on day 2 now!

u/UnderSomeRock · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

That was just an example! It doesn't happen to everyone so I hope I didn't scare you! At least you'll be aware of the cause if it does happen!

Youcan find them on Amazon and at your local beauty supply store! Satin is a cheaper alternative and works just as well!

The ones I have: scarf

Others: bonnet, pocket bonnet, silk lined cap

And there's a ton of videos on YouTube on how to tie them, I could send you a video if you need one! You can. There's a bunch of different techniques like pineappling, but you could also just tie it like a bandana and keep it simple!

u/mountainsandrocks · 2 pointsr/curlyhair

Hopefully this one works! Satin bonnet

u/silverfirexz · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

You should invest in one of these.

When I was little, my mom would always take those plastic one from hotels and use them, being too cheap to actually buy one. I had reeaaallly long hair as a child and used them often, too. They aren't perfect, but they saved a lot of pain.

u/brainyboro · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

This one lasted me a full two years before the elastic finally gave out last month. I used it about 5x a week and machine-washed it regularly.

I just clip my hair up with two big clips and then put it in a reusable shower cap like this one. I'm just wearing it in the shower, so I don't feel inclined to get anything more expensive.

u/Noticemenot · 2 pointsr/pics

No thanks. I have Morninghead

u/KitSnicket18 · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Looks like they do make a black one. It is currently out of stock in their Amazon store but the picture is still there. The one OP got looks legit and may have just been bought a while ago and resold now.

u/MoonkeyPirate · 2 pointsr/Hair

If you can't find anything, there's this shower cap-esque thing that wets your hair in the morning without having to spray it down or soak your head. I haven't tried it but apparently you just fill it with water and put it on your head and massage it and it gets your hair wet. A few reviews say it doesn't do anything but the majority of the other ones say it works. I wake up with crazy hair in the morning too but I just take a shower.

When I did, I wore a regular shower like this so I wouldn't wet my hair in the shower, the water will undo the work. I just washed my hair every few weeks like usual.

u/NoraTC · 1 pointr/Cooking

I have had one for years and highly recommend it. Having a smoke alarm in your kitchen is important, because a lot of house fires start in kitchens. Install any fire alarm you like. Buy a shower cap, though not 120. Tape a string or thread to the shower cap that will hang at about your eye level and attach a ribbon curl, balloon, visually annoying object to the end. You have to remember to install the silencer, but you will not forget to remove it. Until there is an "I'm cooking dammit" app for a smart smoke detector, I expect to continue using this "device".

This headband would make my day because my hair will not get in my face all the time. Make me Smile!

One thing that helped me was sleeping in a silk/satin bonnet
