You can get replacement bands. This is just what I found with one quick search.

Would something like https://www.amazon.com/GOSETH-Compatible-Breathable-Shatter-Resistant-Protective/dp/B07HN4M9LJ/ do the trick?

There are lots of case/band combos on amazon that should mask the color.

u/Kaito-kun · 5 pointsr/DIY

I was wanting the same thing was actually thinking of building my own until I stumbled upon this on amazon

It's cheap and does very basic things, I've been manipulating it with the tasker app to do things beyond what it can normally. (Nothing special so far but I have some ideas that have potential)

For the most part its a vibrating alarm, it vibrates when you get too far away from your phone, vibrates for calls, it can control your music/podcast/audio books.

Along with the typical step counter/sleep tracker like most of the wrist ware crap does now.

$20 and the battery lasts about 5 days? Along with enough water proofing to wear in the shower

I replaced my 360 with the Asus ZenWatch 3 https://www.amazon.com/WI503Q-SL-BG-ZenWatch-1-39-Inch-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B0735JCW39/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1538948285&sr=8-3&keywords=zenwatch+3

If he can wait until next year the Snapdragon Wear 3100 watches will come out and will have longer battery life and hopefully better support from their manufacturers. (The Zenwatch line was discontinued, however I did get an update to android wear last week)

u/honestbleeps · 3 pointsr/hockey

thanks so much for pointing out that sports dryer is on sale - I was looking at it recently!

HOWEVER: being the cheapskate I am, I found 2 potentially better options depending on tax, etc:

  1. I just noticed shipping was like $15... kinda sucky... so on a whim I checked Amazon and it's the same price, but with free shipping!

(no, there's no referral code in that amazon link, you can check it for yourself)

  2. Alternatively, you can enter promo code SERP5 on hockeymonkey (your original link) for 5% off.

Just posting to try and help.. I may order one of these now!

If you have a Samsung android phone, then the Gear 2 Fit is pretty neat. Full notifications in a slim package (unlike a Fitbit that just tells you calls and SMS!), and a battery life measured in days. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FDPW3B0

But yeah, that restriction of having an Android phone, and specifically a Samsung android phone, is a tough one.

u/rodtrent44 · 2 pointsr/MicrosoftBand

Samsung's latest Gear Fit 2 (http://amzn.to/28ZyEUk) has a curved screen. However, not sure if you noticed, Panos' Band also appears to have a pop-out screen. Looks like you might be able to swap straps.

u/ifonline · 2 pointsr/Garmin

I'm surprised no one has responded to you. If you want to stick with Garmin bands, they actually make a longer version, available here: Black Silicone (Large)

In addition, you can get third party ones from Amazon and I can tell you from first-hand knowledge that the Ancool ones are longer than the standard one that comes with the 6s. I don't know about the other brands, but they all appear to be identical.

See here: Ancool on Amazon

Any quick release 20mm band should work but here's the link to the specific ones I purchased.

*Just a heads up, these bands are about 3/4 inch longer than the OEM band. You could always trim them down to suit your needs. I've had no problem with these, on my VA3 or my FR245.

This is not the first company to promise this. Prices have ranged from $10-$45 a month from at least five companies.

Chill Telecomm - Sugar Mobile - Ting - TNW Wireless - TextNow

All these companies were eventually shut down by the big 3.

Sugar Mobile had deals with a mobile provider that bought service through Rogers. Rogers threatened to shut down Ice Mobile, which would have left the NWT and Yukon dark, except for a few Bell sites.

Under current laws, there is nothing stopping the Big 3 from doing so again.

The worst case scenario is that the end users (us) lose $25 US. Maybe even thousands of people will do so.

His last project took over $1.5M from backers, and never produced anything or provided updates or refunds. It's still "in development", after it's introduction.

His last update was it would be released in Q2 2019. It's Q4, so, no. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/neptune-suite-one-hub-infinite-possibilities#/comments

https://www.reddit.com/r/shittykickstarters/comments/7ymgg6/neptune_suiteupdate_19022018_id_like_to_give/

>What most supporters did not know at the time: The biggest technological revolution of the decade was to be built by a 23-year-old who had never been employed anywhere. Although Tian boasts on the Internet that he had launched a smartwatch on the market as early as 2013, he admits in the conversation that he did not contribute to it more than the idea. The Canadian has never developed a product independently, has no solid team at his side and can not even program.

We will see...

edit: Turns out a bunch of backers for the Neptune Pine smartwatch also lost money and received nothing...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/neptune/neptune-pine-smartwatch-reinvented/comments

Which is strange because it was an actual product...

920xt band snapped.

Mine snapped.

Reviews for replacements are not so hot :
https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Forerunner-920XT-Replacement-Bands/dp/B00O7SJTZ8

Seems like they are designed to fail. Sad since it is the Garmin branded replacement too.

What am I supposed to do? Off brand recommendations?

u/anatomizethat · 2 pointsr/triathlon

I have a 920 and have replaced the band twice - I wear the watch every single day, all day, including sleeping. I take it off to shower and when I'm on my trainer.

Both times I just bought replacement bands off Amazon and replaced them myself. It's like $20 and takes about 10 minutes to replace. Here's the one I buy. If you have a different color just take a quick look around and find the correct color with Garmin listed as the seller.

Can't say i've ever heard of them or anyone that uses them. Personally I've been leaning towards the Arccos Caddie system here: https://www.amazon.com/Arccos-Golf-60010-Caddie-Sensors/dp/B07FKQY4YH/ref=pd_cp_107_3?pd_rd_w=I4wKc&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=NMSP922MJS3CGQCQXFMP&pd_rd_r=74b21450-a513-11e9-9d01-2739ed945e70&pd_rd_wg=BrapA&pd_rd_i=B07FKQY4YH&psc=1&refRID=NMSP922MJS3CGQCQXFMP

I've heard overall great things about the arccos system and it's a little less expensive than the CT10 but just from what I've read and looked at so far. No hands on experience.

EDIT: This is a pretty good review as well: https://practical-golf.com/garmin-ct10-shot-tracking-review/

u/yadedmon · 1 pointr/Garmin

I bought these, and they're exact duplicates of the garmin brand band.

u/Grahams-Boy · 1 pointr/GearS3

Band looks great! I use this one and it doesn't block the sensor on the underside. It's pretty basic but it's super comfortable and very easy to out on/take off. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FZW68Q6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ING3CbHSEGM75

u/CENASUCKZ · 1 pointr/Garmin

I had the same experience. It is strange. You'll often see the Garmin bands on Amazon, outside of the third party bands.

For example, I don't like the way the QuickFit bands feel on the 935 so I was itching to get the blue 945 band. It is not on the Garmin site that I can find, but it's on Amazon from Garmin:
https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Forerunner-945-Replacement-Band/dp/B07RHCD1PJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=garmin+945+band&link_code=qs&qid=1558181602&s=gateway&sourceid=Mozilla-search&sr=8-1

I have one of these and I love it. It's the best thing possible for proactively keeping them clean and smelling nice.

Now, when I first got it what I did was soak/bathe my gear for a couple hours in my shower (stinking it in the process). As /u/rametta4 said, you can take out the velcro inserts of shinpads and wash them, but the rest of my stuff (minus skates, helmet, and gloves) I soaked/washed in the tub.

Glove can be rinsed out with hot water thoroughly, but do not apply soap as it could dry out the leather even more. Helmet avoid using soap as well as you would not chemicals dripping down into your eyes mid-game. Skates I just sprayed the hell out of with Lysol.

u/SillyCubensis · 1 pointr/GarminFenix

Not sure exactly which one he has but I got this one not the cheapest, but the quality and comfort are amazing.

u/CJOttawa · 1 pointr/Myfitnesspal

OH... well... refurbs (factory new condition with full warranty) are $210CAD on Amazon.ca. (I was quoting $160USD ;)

I'm editing my post above with more info...check back in a bit.

I bought an ArmorSuit MilitaryShield for $7.80 (Amazon.com) and it was a complete let down. I bought this one which is much easier to apply, you can't even tell it's there and it's much cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J3BAR28/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_WATERMELO · 1 pointr/moto360

Which screen protector did you have on before? I bought the illumishield one, and it felt great. It felt pretty much the same as the glass.

This one sounds like it might be oleophobic.

u/Iboschi · 1 pointr/AndroidWear

How is the battery life? Are you doing any sleep monitoring with it? As for the fitness bands, they do have one! Check out the Sony Smartband! I bought one for my fiancee. She really likes it: Sony Smartband SWR10 - Black http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HQIFKWW/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_M-7wub1XQ7ECS

u/SenorButtmunch · 1 pointr/Fitness

I found three which I'm looking at, though all of them are a good £10 or so above my price range, which is annoying but I'll search round different retailers and look for vouchers and whatnot.

The three are:

Sony SWR10 SmartBand

FitBit Zip Activity Tracker

Fitbug Orb

I think the FitBit Zip will be the most affordable and is the best value for money, though I preferred one with a band as opposed to a clip. I was also leaning towards the Sony one as it's a reputable brand and seems to have a bit more features compared to the FitBit which is purely for fitness. If anyone has any advice about these three or any others, do let me know, thanks!

u/bo4tdude · 1 pointr/DIY

iOS does make it more difficult but there is an alert profile in BLE that may natively pass the information. I think there are some BLE arduinos and if not there are certainly shields. Check sparkfun and adafruit.

Another option may be to get something like this Alert Bracelet crack it open and use the vibe motor output to trigger a strobe, shoot flairs, or whatever tickles your fancy.

I use a Rocket Dryer in my garage. I love it. Rocket Sports Rocket Sports Heated Equipment Dryer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A7I5U9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tuwKyb8CQWKP4

u/MildCharisma · 1 pointr/hockeyplayers

I've used this for a number of years. Throw all the gear on here, take the insoles out, I leave the soakers on. 3 hours and done-dry.

Apartment living here. When I was in college my apartment had its own bathroom connected to each room. My stuff was stored in the bathroom. Currently have a 2 bedroom and I use the spare room to put the legs on the ground, hang the chest and pants, put a fan near the glove, blocker, skates, mask, and bag on the ground opened. I'm looking into this dryer. Anyone else use this? If so can you fit everything and is it worth it?
