Oh hey, there are some good apps in here! Business Calendar 2's pro features get unlocked if you have Business Calendar installed. It's a really good Material designed calendar, and the only one I could find with a fully functional month widget that actually lists out the event titles rather than the infuriating little color blocks that other calendars have.
App is Servers Ultimate Pro.

Cool find!
Just install the following app that will easily allow you to sideload apps

It may be related to something like this:

Two Amazon-approved apps that I think are essential for FireTV are Downloader and Total Commander.
If you get both, there is little need for ES File Explorer.
And for the majority of phone's out there: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.storm.lightning.client.aosp&hl=en_US and from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Remote-App/dp/B00ODIASKC

This app is compatible with the Kindle Fire. Not compatible with phones i guess.
Go get them! :D If you find any error here, feel free to send me a PM.
I use the Download App to download and install files... why do you need anything else?
The actual link address on github is https://github.com/opensubtitles/service.subtitles.opensubtitles_by_opensubtitles/archive/master.zip
I've used AFTV's Downloader app (https://www.amazon.com/AFTVnews-com-Downloader/dp/B01N0BP507) to download the zip, and then installed it in Kodi from zip file.

I just picked up mSecure, originally $9.99
Question: Does anyone know if you "buy" these apps then uninstall them, can you install them again at anytime free of charge?
For those without root access, a handy app to help stop background processing on the fire tvs is Background Apps and Process List
It's basically a shortcut to cycle though the app info screen for each user app, which allows you to select "force stop" on all running apps as quickly as possible.
It gives a small boost of a bit of extra CPU available, but the main benefit is clearing up RAM for Kodi to use as a cache, if you need it.
Silk can do this: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Amazon-Silk-Web-Browser/dp/B01M35MQV4
That's strange. You should have this in your Widgets.
It's this app
No idea on the memory capacity. I don't see it on your Amazon links so you'll probably have to check the manuals/guides on each manufacturer's website.
Sideloading APKs is easy. If you're somewhat tech savvy the entire process takes 10-15 minutes.
You'll need the direct URL of the APK you want to install (eg www.whatever.com/app.apk) and the Downloader app and the VLC app from the Amazon App store on your TV. The Downloader app handles both the download and installation processes for you.
Edit: Formatting.
So you want to copy the files to the local storage on the Firetv over the network?
You can do this with ES File Explorer.
You will have to share the files over the network though. That is the only way to... share files over the network.
IKR? I came from a Samsung with the brightness slider on the single swipe and miss that feature.
One thing you could try is to install the Display Brightness app. It puts a slider on your status bar (I'm not sure how well it would work with the camera cutout though). It used to be on Google Play but is not any longer. You can still get it from Amazon or find it on XDA-Developers. Here is a video of it in action.
Display Brightness is still on the Amazon App Store
Edit: link
another alternative if nothing else works is using the "total commander" app. it will remain listed in the recent apps.
install it and launch kodi/spmc. then as long as you do not close or restart the firetv/app, kodi/spmc will be the selected option the next time you launch total commander.
link to app on amazon appstore.
this to me is a better alternative than going to settings, managaged installed apps, LOADING APP TIME, scrolling down to kodi, enter, lauch app.
I don't believe Czech (or Slovak) languages for the keyboard are supported. They are there but Amazon removes the settings options you need to change in order to get them. You might be able to replace the stock keyboard with something like Swype which I think lets you then use any language.
Certainly. It just lists all installed applications then you can just choose. I wish it was a grid but it works and it works well. If you use a mouse you can star your favorite apps so that they appear at top the list every time
Application Organizer Pro (Fire TV Edition) by mkuniquesolution http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q3907T6/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_ZQ3Hub050HDFF
I like CalenGoo. It direct-connects to Google Calendar (not via the Android calendar layer) and allows you to sync against an arbitrary number of Gmail accounts.
Ok, just got home and did a little searching.
I guess first of all, what are you rooting for? Do you just want to install the google apps so you have access to the Play marketplace or are you trying to install a new ROM? I know everyone has to start somewhere to learn, but maybe you should experiment with rooting a different device that is easier to recover from errors in case you run into problems. Kindles are not exactly easy to fix if you hit a snag.
Anyway, I have no experience with installing a different ROM on my Kindle. I've custom ROMed all my phones, but the HDX is a bit of a special case, so I didn't want to go in too deep yet. I rooted so I could have access to Google Play and replace Silk with Chrome. If that is all you are looking for, it's pretty easy to root and install HDXPosed and the Google Services, but using the HDX Toolkit to disable OTA updates is a little tricky.
Anyway, start with downloading ES File Explorer. You will need it installed to be able to install the Towelroot APK.
Go here for information about Towelroot, then go here for HDXPosed and links to the Google Services once you have sucessfully rooted with Towelroot.
Once you have HDXPosed installed and the Google Services running, you can use the HDX Toolkit to disable OTA updates so your Kindle won't automatically update and (best case) lose root or (worst case) brick itself. HDXPosed is supposed to disable OTA updates, but I've heard it doesn't work properly and I didn't want to take any chances.
You can always reverse the process (make sure Wifi is turned off and no cell service) and uninstall everything and re-enable OTA updates if you need to update for some reason later. I know the HDX Toolkit is supposed to be able to root your Kindle as well, but I found that using Towelroot is much easier.
If you are looking for information about installing custom ROMs, then go here for Safestrap and good luck!
In your kindle, go to Settings > Applications and make sure "Apps from Unknown Sources" is turned on.
Connect the kindle fire to your computer, copy the apk file in the OP's post into a folder. ( See https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201022260 )
Disconnect from computer, navigate to the directory ( I use ES File Explorer, which you can get from Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/ES-Mobile-File-Explorer/dp/B008K6HN8I ). Double click on the APK and choose to open with the fire installer.
Sorry, I was struggling to remember on the bus when I wrote that! It's this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Application-Organizer-Pro-Fire-Edition/dp/B00Q3907T6
I'm sure I paid less than 3 quid for it though :/
Are you sure? Seems more something like this https://www.amazon.com/AFTVnews-com-Downloader/dp/B01N0BP507/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Downloader&qid=1555890040&s=gateway&sr=8-1 I believe it is an app to download Jellyfin not the Jellyfin app itself.
Nope its still up. https://www.amazon.com/AFTVnews-com-Downloader/dp/B01N0BP507
https://amazon.com/dp/B01N0BP507
&

You can add a VNC server, and as Luck would have it, Amazon has it for free. Check Servers Ultimate Pro and download the pack when prompted. Also you could use TeamViewer QuickSupport I have both installed ona an Android Stick and for QS you need to authorize control, for VNC you don't.
May I recommend GIC? Its free, open source, and should do exactly what you are looking for. It's available on Amazon app store and google play (or Github if you want to compile yourself!)
I don't know how to share a link from the amazon app store on my phone since I'm not using that store - once home and off the bus I'll try and edit this with the direct link, but just search for "gaming interface client". If you need any assistance I'm the author and I'm here to answer any questions. It's new so still a bit rough but I'm actively working on it - customized buttons is next on my list, then fonts and sharing the screens you create after that.
Edit: grabbed link from my last post - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N2LZ5D1
With the Downloader app.

Star Citizen Assistant is now on amazon so you can get it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D22GFRN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526318479&sr=8-1
just change ".com" to your region. Let me know if there are any issues.
Here you go:
http://www.amazon.com/VLC-Mobile-Team-for-Fire/dp/B00U65KQMQ
I also suggest installing ES File Explorer:
http://www.amazon.com/ES-Mobile-File-Explorer/dp/B008K6HN8I
Just a shot in the dark but maybe you can put the fire tv remote app from Amazon on your phone and access the menu from there https://smile.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Remote-App/dp/B00ODIASKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527324020&sr=8-1&keywords=fire+tv+remote+app&dpID=41sejRH7YTL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
For me, I use a file management utility.
ES File Explorer File Manager: https://smile.amazon.com/ES-File-Explorer-Manager/dp/B008K6HN8I/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ES+File&qid=1556152549&s=gateway&sr=8-1
I dont know if this works on the sticks but:
use this Downloader
go to Kodi.tv Download -> Install.
2nd using the firetv remote app on
itunes:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-fire-tv-remote/id947984433?mt=8
android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.storm.lightning.client.aosp&hl=en
fire tv:
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Remote-App/dp/B00ODIASKC
remember with the firetv remote app tap the entry for username or password, don't bring up the keyboard first, when you tap it, it should pop the keyboard AND THEN PASTE WILL WORK. :)
Looks like this guy has already been reported for spamming various blogs that have very little content.
I suggest the mods step in.
If you're going to talk about the app of the day, just link directly to Amazon. (Which has more detailed write up, more pictures, more reviews, etc.)
Assuming you have a version 2, go here:
https://www.amazon.com/Windscribe-VPN/dp/B076ZYV6HQ
just download a fileManager app.
https://www.amazon.com/ES-Mobile-File-Explorer/dp/B008K6HN8I
https://www.amazon.com/SmoothMobile-LLC-File-Manager/dp/B00872WN58
https://www.amazon.com/android-tech-File-Manager-Free/dp/B004L1EGL8
Actually found it on amazon App Store! It’s called “Device Background Process List (Made for tv)” it makes it easy to get to the settings to force close. The benefit is if and app is glitching, stuck at loading. it can restart the app easily.
https://www.amazon.com/Device-Background-Process-List-Made/dp/B077LRPXZW/ref=nodl_
It looks like ifunbox is a file browser, so I'll point you at esfile explorer.
I'd either connect the Kindle up to a PC via USB and delete all the .tmp files, or install a cleaner like Clean Master Pro (free) if you can. That should also free up a bunch of space.
Yep! Our app is now on the Amazon Appstore so search Windscribe there and you'll be able to download it.
Or you can go here: https://www.amazon.com/Windscribe-VPN/dp/B076ZYV6HQ and simply send it to your Firestick from the browser.
It's a great app! I'm really liking it... It's cheaper on the Amazon market though. :P
I use application folder pro that I got on amazon giveaway for free. Here's the link.
http://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Jeong-Application-Folder-Pro/dp/B004WGHU2O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile-apps&qid=1320892068&sr=1-1
Business Calendar, it's paid so maybe you might not want it. I got it when it was app of the day on Amazon, and I like it.
http://www.amazon.com/Mikado-Software-Business-Calendar/dp/B004TTMYQG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile-apps&qid=1313872845&sr=1-1
Here's its Amazon page + reviews. I can't find it on Market for some reason.
You need to use mouse toggle to help with this.
Mouse Toggle is not easy to see, but you can make it work. When you get the config file page, start at the upper right. Get there by hold the the up and right on the directional pad for about 5 seconds. You have to play around with this until you see a selection light up. Once you can see that, work your way to the menu on the left.
I suggest installing Total Commander as that may help with any permission issues on copying the config. I was able to make it work a few times last week on a few more firesticks. Thanks to Alex from this post.
Hope this helps. I have done about 15 firesticks now. It can be tedious to work with Mouse Toggle, but it gets the job done.
Actually, no that doesn't seem right. Sounds like you've installed another browser and that's why it's behaving so frustratingly.
This is what I was referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Silk-Browser/dp/B01M35MQV4
I'm not sure if you can add the app to your FireTV from that link but you really shouldn't need to side load Silk with your phone. It's really straight forward: press and hold the microphone button, say "Silk Browser", and then you should see it in the search results. Click on it and install it.
YouTube on the Silk browser functions almost exactly like the old app. That said, its UI and search could really use some improvement. You won't, however, have to use the mouse to maximize the video: you select a video and it'll play in full screen.
The same addons work with SPMC, the ones I use anyway. SPMC is designed for Android, and includes extra code/fixes to get the best out of the Fire Stick/TV. SPMC is available here. I don't know the current source for Not Sure. As for setting up, use the app Downloader to download SPMC.

The great ideas show up whenever your logical (left brain) mind shuts down. If I don't have a notepad handy, I type ideas into the Notes app on my iPhone. We've all had a great ideas that we swear we'll never ever forget them, but they almost always vanish into the ether if not written down.
If your thoughts are really rocking, use a recording app to record your stream of consciousness, then type them out the next day. I installed Easy Voice Recorder Pro on my Kindle and it works great. It's especially good for dialogue, because you can role play your characters and let the dialogue flow instead of concerning yourself at the moment with punctuation and beats.

Yup. There's even an official app w/ voice search. I completely forgot about it tbh, good call. Its on the play store as well, even though I used the Amazon App store link.
It also has Amazon's take on casting called "Flick." But it was just coming out last I used it, and not many apps had implemented it yet. No idea where that stands now.
while this will not help you fix the actual remote - are you able to use the smartphone app to control your firetv?

Using these two apps I can use my phone as a remote to get into PIA settings. Also, PIA allows per-app settings for VPN. So, you can set PIA so that the VPN is only active for Kodi, but inactive for Prime and Netflix, for example.
