I think I can do that for ya, honestly. I also have, for the left joystick, little caps that make grip better if that interests you too. Maybe private message me I suppose, get this goin!
Edit: and no purchasing, they're so silly cheap, I got it n the postage etc..
Edit 2: This is the left joystick cover, could hook you up with one of those. I honestly love it. Long gaming sessions are perfect for this seemingly simple and pointless lil' grip.
Edit 3: And this is the c-stick replacement. Someone else linked it above as well, but yeah, the psp-1,000 joystick or whatever. Works really great.
Edit 4: Since I'm really gettin down on all this N3DS speak, I'd like to share this as well. My goodness, it makes gaming 1,000x better. Since the grips are not directly under the 3DS, and they are almost basically on the sides, it makes it feel like a legit, comfortable ass videogame controller! (In the vein of an Xbox or PS4 controller) With how I said the grips are on the sides, it makes it not feel so damn cramped like some of the other N3DS grips can. It's seriously so, SO worth the $15 bucks.
Figure this isn't important enough to have it's own topic:
I snagged a black Japanese N3DS (non-XL) off Amazon with the intent of replacing my trusty N3DS XL, knowing the restrictions on system transfers between regions, along with being unable to access the E-shop. I knew it would ship with an old firmware, but this one had 9.1.0J, a cakewalk.
Took less than two hours to completely install A9LH as well as change the region to USA using the reportedly-obsolete page in the guide (Luma3DS's region emulation only covers games, not the system menu?). Everything looks great aside from accessing the eshop, and i'm in the process of slowly moving my games and saves over, they're all working thus far.
My question is, what is keeping the eshop from working, along with system transfers? From what I can tell, as far as the console is concerned, it thinks it's a legit USA console, as it updated from the patched 9.2.0U to 11.0.0U perfectly and responds to the 11.0.0-33-USA payload for the homebrew launcher. Not only this, but perhaps in the future, Decrypt9 could handle offline system transfers? We can already dump and inject various files and partitions, but no mention on using those to transfer friend and eshop data between two A9LH'd consoles. I can live without moving my friend's list and measly e-shop purchases over, but it would be handy.
Here's the Amazon link for the console in question in case anyone wants to snatch one up. I'm going to use both the smaller and larger N3DSes for a week and sell the one I prefer less on Craigslist. So far, i'm loving the more compact design, as well as the matte finish, shame that Nintendo isn't interesting in releasing it in the states.
Edit: Found this nice lengthy guide on getting eshop going, see y'all in a few hours
Yep you're correct.
When soldering there are a few basic things you have to consider. The main idea is that you want to heat up the wire and the contact point to the point that the solder will "wick" to the parts. You don't want to just melt the solder on the iron itself and have it drizzle on the parts.
Here are some other basic tips I wish I had been told when I was learning to soldering electronics in no logical order:
But most of soldering is just practice. It's a pretty easy skill to get proficient at. After a few projects it'll be almost second nature.
I needed something on the cheap end when I first got my 3DS, so I picked up one of these guys: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-microSDHC-Memory-Package/dp/B003WGJYCY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1481729298&sr=8-5&keywords=Sandisk+micro+SD+card+32GB
32GB is pretty significant, and since I buy all my games digitally, I'm able to have 8-9 games on the DS without any issue, sometimes more if I'm going back and playing an older game. Fire Emblem Awakening + DLC, Fates +DLC, Monster Hunter 4/Generations and a couple other bigger games were always on the card with 20k+ blocks to spare.
If you need something, or want something a little larger; https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro-Memory-Tablets-All-New/dp/B013TMNKAW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1481729403&sr=8-5&keywords=Sandisk+micro+SD+card+64GB I've had great luck with the Sandisk 64GB HC in other electronics (I have one in an adapter in my PSP.)
If you're not a fan of SanDisk, or want to stick with a bigger brand, Samsung makes some great MicroSD cards as well, specifically this which I just picked up for my work cell phone; https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Select-Memory-MB-ME64DA-AM/dp/B01DOB6YQA/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481729493&sr=1-1&keywords=samsung+micro+sd+card
That's where I got mine, but you're right it looks like they took it off the shelves. You can get it easily through an online retailer like Amazon as well.
http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1457608079&sr=1-1&keywords=powersaves
Any updates as to the version a newly bought console comes with? I ask because Walmart as well as Amazon have the New Nintendo 3DS XL in black right now for $175 (jump at the opportunity if you haven't!).
So anyone who have recently bought one from either Amazon directly (not the other sellers) or Walmart, did it come with a hackable version? Thanks!
PS: If you happen to live in the US and end up going personally to Walmart and buying one please tell me the version, I'm not going to know until around 3 weeks, which is the time it takes to ship to Uruguay via the courier I used.
I have had similar interests myself in order to build a custom frame for my N3DS-XL to house this extended battery pack - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NJ2UEW (for a normal N3DS). Looking around These are the best resources I've found so far to start from:
Face-plate - https://grabcad.com/library/3ds-cover-1
Generic 3DS model - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:246100
Battery grip spacer - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:683341
None of these appear to be exactly what I would need to do my own project, so its probably up to me and a pair of calipers to get precise measurements for. Hope these help.
https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-MicroSDXC-Class10-SP128GBSTXBU1V20SP/dp/B00T9QONOU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1467688493&sr=8-5&keywords=128+GB+micro+SD
This is the one. Glad to still find it on Amazon at the same price. The rating on it is good too, have fun!
On 10.2, oot runs at the cost of a normal game at this link:http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Ocarina-Time-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B003O6E800/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451023018&sr=8-1&keywords=ocarina+of+time+3d.
So, if you are willing to buy a game, and go through the 30 minute process of transferring the hacked save file w/ power saves, then go for it. Hope I helped. You can also update to 10.3 to do this method. You get badges, and if you successfully homebrew Oot3d, you can get custom badges with a homebrew app I forget the name of, but I use it alot. I have 288 badges. XD
CHMM2 is a theme manager included in the homebrew starter kit. Freakyhax is easy to set up, just visit this site for instructions. Please note that freakyforms deluxe is a very expensive game.
Oot3dhax is a bit more complicated, you'd need a way to inject save files, like powersaves.
Hey, I'm looking to purchase one of these Imported white New 3ds. 1. Because it looks really clean and beautiful, and 2. Because I like the small form factor of the N3DS compared to the XL. My question is, if/after I shack it, can I install any CIA and play regardless of the region block?
I'm not sure it will fit. Other than that, System Transfer will work just fine. Choose to copy the files yourself, it's quicker than the wireless transfer.
The easy way to tell if it will all fit is to copy all the files first, as a test run.
Alternatively, you could buy a bigger microSD. Amazon has a 128GB for $40.
I'm going to buy this tommorow thanks for all the help guys! :)

I see, thanks that really helps. It's a white japanese N3DS regular that looks exactly like this. How do I figure out the exact model number for it?
Thank you :) Is this the right thing? If so, I can order it now and use OoTHax :) Cheaper than buying a game I'd never play ;)
spend the money and get the king of 3DS gaming grips. it is a GAME changer in terms of hand comfort, long term gaming and smash on the go
my only gripe is it loses the ability to pocket the system along with setting it down flat.... but its easy to take on and off AND has cart storage so it offsets. the hinges brake on mine and I'd just buy another it feels so good
TAKE THAT!
(God, I love Phoenix Wright. Anyways. :P)
so buy this game, follow this guide to install a9lh and from there I should be good to go?
Thanks!
You can get a refund. Don't let it die. Also you don't need extreme. You need this exact card:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IVPU7AO?keywords=64%20gb%20microsd&qid=1453486887&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2
I recently upgraded from that exact EVO to this bad mother:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77C1W4?keywords=128%20gb%20microsd&qid=1453486950&ref_=sr_1_3&sr=8-3
Both work perfectly.
Add homebrew to you console - you need this power saves tool to inject the save. It costs $21 and that will allow to do some homebrew but not all.
Follow the ntrboot guide to buy and install CFW which will allow you to do everything. It costs between $10 and $24 depending on the cart you buy but it's worth much, much more than OoT and just a homebrew entrypoint.
Is this is what I need to get the oothax save on a copy of OoT3D? I just want to make absolutely sure before buying anything.
I have a question. I read on multiple guides that you need specific card Readers like this and others saying just use any reader. In the Pic the guy also uses just the normal smallSD to bigSD adapter so obviously not that mentioned in THIS GUIDE. So whats true now?
These wires are recommended in the hardmod thread. I used them twice myself, and they worked great.
Jesus fucking Christ are you serious, how hard can it be?

I have no idea how you found a $40-45 one.
Can I use the r4i save dongle (have it from back when you needed it for OOT savefile w/ gateway) instead of what is linked to on 3ds.guide "powersaves" https://amzn.to/2fb3VY7 when installing boot9strap on a fresh 3ds?
4 GB is enough to hack your 3DS (you need ~3 GB of free space), but you'll run out of room very quickly once the process is done. I recommend upgrading to a 32 GB card (or larger)
This is slightly off topic but I'm not sure where to post it. I want to make a copy of my animal crossing new leaf save so that I can start a new town, but also keep my old one.
Would this do the trick for me? I've used older action replays but I haven't used this exact model.

THANK YOU!!
You can do (1) with the game + powersaves, which costs about $30 I think. So a total of about $50 in the US.
https://www.amazon.ca/3DS-Action-Replay-Powersaves-Datel/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6
To be honest, if you're quite computer illiterate, paying someone to do it for you isn't necessarily nonsense.
Hey guys, I'm going to hardmod my n3dsxl and was recommended these cables
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Balance-Charger-JST-XH-Connector/dp/B00REFEOWO/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&dpID=41MqZsFNyhL&dpPl=1&keywords=jst%20xh%20connector&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&qid=1456520190&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_3&sr=8-3
but I can't get them, and this is my first time hardmodding so I don't want to order the wrong bits
can anyone recommend some cables that I could use within the uk?
thanks
Thanks, it's probably even better if we drop this here and this one has the magnifying glass on it.
I want to upgrade from my OG3DS, but the XL is just way too big. Would there be issues if I bought this and installed homebrew/cfw to play my old games?
The item you linked it just a micro SD card. You want something like this where you can see the larger card acts as a standard SD card for the Smaller SD card so you can fit it into a standard SD card reader. Unless you have a micro SD card reader slot already or maybe some kind of multicard reader that supports micro SD.
I wouldn't suggest using the card on the Wii U as well but TBH im not sure there is a reason you cant.
If you have a physical copy of the game, you can just use a Powersave Pro like this one http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449164307&sr=8-1&keywords=powersave to edit your save.
No need to 'hack' anything.
Amazon definitely has micro SD card adapters.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006T9B6R2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GVJizb0B49QWE
This is the one I use. You can see from the pictures that it has a micro SD slot.
This is the reader you need
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSD-Memory-Adapter-MICROSD-ADAPTER/dp/B0047WZOOO
Also yes you can do the entire process with the back open as that backplate doesn't do much but keep the micro SD card in. As long as you're not shaking the system upside down with the back off, you will be fine
I like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013JDH8J0/
Only gripe about it was the card holders in the back had the pins pushed too far inwards and pushed up a label on my Ridge Racer cart. As a grip it works fine though.
It lets you download/backup saves on your cartridges to your PC so you can install the modified save for Homebrew
Have fun with the 64, should be a satisfying upgrade, I'm personally filled up on my 64 and am debating buying a 200 because I'm a horrible person and want to install just about every game I see.
I have finished installing the arm9loaderHax and upgraded back to 11.
I am thinking about getting a larger micro SD card from amazon. Here are the 2 I am considering 1 - 2
Are there any size/speed concerns I should have?
What will I need to do to make sure the micoSD is ready for my 3ds? Will I need to format it specially? I remember during the hacking process needing to format the SC card a few times, but I think the whole thing is back to nothing special by the end of the hacking guide.
People generally refer to this when talking about powersaves. It's a dongle that you connect a cartridge to so that you can modify your save files for cheats and the like.
Any device you would recommend? As in are there other devices than action replay?
http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M
This is what I found after some light googling
Yes, the ANKER one.
They are stranded, plus they do seem like they are small.
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Balance-Charger-JST-XH-Connector/dp/B00REFEOWO/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&dpID=41MqZsFNyhL&dpPl=1&keywords=jst%20xh%20connector&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&qid=1456520190&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_3&sr=8-3
Buy this mSD card and format it to fat32 using guiformat. It has plenty of room for backups and the like.
Sorry to keep pestering you, i want to make sure i get this right as this is the last piece!
https://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6
This one should do the trick?
I was about to buy this N3DSXL from Nintendo. How likely would it be for it to come in 10.4? I'd rather buy it from somewhere else if there's a chance. Brand new though.
Good price, but as mentioned, no full size SD adapter. I prefer buying these from Amazon. SanDisk is my preferred choice for flash memory, as I have them both on my 3DS systems, and this one comes with the full size SD adapter too. Also, Amazon usually has them on sale for roughly this price.
---
here, i found this one. the famicom edition is a new3ds XL, so follow that guide.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-noob-friendly-nand-dumping-2ds-3ds-3ds-xl-n3ds-n3ds-xl.414498/
---
you'll need to buy a compatible SD reader, i've seen the anker ones being used the most. probably because they're the first on the list.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006T9B6R2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
---
also, if you dont have a microSD -> SD adaptor, you can solder the wires directly to the SD reader.
you probably shouldnt actually do that though because then you'd not have an SD reader, but it's fine if you do.
Can this version of Ocarina of Time + a PowerSaves3DS be used as a primary hack to get homebrew onto a never before exploited New 3DSXL running firmware 11.2.0-35E?
I've been led to believe it can, but the game seems awfully cheap when contrasted with the likes of Cubic Ninja / Freaky Deluxe.
For the UK, you can get the powersaves on Amazon for cheaper.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465848776&sr=8-1&keywords=powersaves
EDIT: Just stalk eBay for Freakyforms. I just found a copy going for £30.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FREAKYFORMS-DELUXE-NINTENDO-3DS-XL-2D-UK-SELLER-/142024191208?hash=item21114d2ce8:g:K2QAAOSwQupXWz~S

Is this one the right one? Because there is another one for $5 more and different packaging on Amazon.
Did you try amazon? Might be cheaper even with shipping costs.
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q588D4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492248352&sr=8-2&keywords=sandisk+64gb
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77C1W4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
but the 128gb amazon has is so tasty.
So for oot+powersaves these ones are fine right? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6
In the new couple of hours Amazon has a prime deal for a 128gb micro SD card for $29.

I bought a SanDisk one from Amazon for about $35 in their warehouse deals/used section. New ones go for $40.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B010Q57S62
I bought a 64GB sandisk for 22 bucks @ amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010Q588D4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
If I just want to install unsigned cias and stream to my PC do I just need to downgrade to 9.2 and install Luma3DS and NTR?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6 is this what I need to get for OOTHAX?
It is possible if you line everything up correctly but I recommend this because you may accidentally use a usb c cable to usb to do it but it has to be an sd card reader.
edit: Why hardmod if you can just get a flashcart and get all the perks as a hardmod without the risk.
Some data is compared against what is internal to the system. Juggling multiple cards is not recommended. Why not just get a bigger card and move the data to it? 64 GB cards on Amazon are under $20 last I checked.
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q588D4
Just over $20 right now.
No, I meant you'll have to plug the SD card into a USB adapter like so: https://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Reader-RS-MMC-Support-Warranty/dp/B006T9B6R2 before powering on the 3ds.
You can install OoTHax with an Action Replay PowerSaves so if you're really stuck you can grab one of those. They're like $18 on Amazon
Here's the guide
I started with a 32gb card for my n3DS because I thought the 128 was giving me issues when downgrading. I followed this guide
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/
to image my 32gb card to the 128gb and resize the partition. I only copied over one small cia (~300mb) to test and had no issues. I am using this card
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77C1W4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
EDIT: i am using fbi to install, not bigbluemenu
I'm about to hack my New! 3ds xl and am looking for a micro sd card that will work.
Is this any good?
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-microSDHC-Memory-Package/dp/B003WGJYCY
This one(just upgraded):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-64gb-microsdhc-class-10-uhs-i-u3-memory-card-multi/6163246.p?id=1219659375806&skuId=6163246
Previously I was using this(and had the same problem):
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-microSDHC-Memory-Package/dp/B003WGJYCY/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1452879070&sr=1-3&keywords=sandisk+32+micro
Get and adaptor for your micro sd card then just pop it into your OG 3ds.
I believe I am?
I'm using this SD Card Reader, since it was mentioned in the hardmod guide
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6?ref_=nav_ya_signin&claim_type=EmailAddress&new_account=1&
Is this the correct one?
Does anyone know if the standard version of Action Replay Power Saves will work as it's half the price of the pro version.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502588069&sr=8-1&keywords=ACTION+REPLAY+POWERSAVES
Unfortunatley, I'm not in that area. However you can use powersaves and do it yourself for about $20 (probably cheaper than food/money)
Here is the mobile version of your link
Is this 3ds powersave device:https://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-Powersaves-Cheat-Device-Games/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1481515986&sr=8-2&keywords=powersave
and OOT3d all I need to perform OOt3dhax?
So this one, right ? https://www.amazon.it/Datel-Action-Replay-Powersaves-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467042092&sr=8-1&keywords=action+replay+powersaves
I'm reading the guide and it says
"This guide will work on New 3DS, Old 3DS, and 2DS in the EUR, JPN, or USA regions on firmware 11.0.0 or below."
Do I still need OOT+powersaves if it's on 10.6/.7 ?
Will any version of Powersaves work for OOT3Dhax or does it have to be the pro version? For instance, will this one work?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Nintendo/dp/B00CQ9L1Z6
What is the difference between this, this or that?
Would I be able to edit saves on OoT with "Pokemon edition" powersaves (first one)?
Kinda, I guess? Here's a link
Already exists but only available from Japan. https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B00FYGAU4G
I got this from ebay as an alternative to doing a hardmod.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FYGAU4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
so, i'm on 10.7 on an old 3ds
my only options for CFW are getting a cubic ninja, freakyforms deluxe or using another system with pokemon games?
when people say you can do it with oot3d and power saves, is this what they mean, or something else?
Most people just call it PowerSaves these days, but yes, it's an Action Replay device.
This is where I got mine. Datel Action Replay Power Saves Pro - Nintendo 3Ds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IVJ1M7M/
http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M
November 22nd from this guy Zipangu Collection - http://www.amazon.com/New-Nintendo-3DS-White-Japan/dp/B00NAW5R0I/ref=sr_1_44?m=A1NCVXBQ42RE7T&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1450100579&sr=1-44
There are also these mod wires frequently bought with an Anker SD adapter.
They make larger ones
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00V62XBQQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1453090280&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=200gb+SD+card&dpPl=1&dpID=41hicAWNJiL&ref=plSrch
Will this microSD work with a New Nintendo 3DS XL?
If you buy a powersaves from amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457939531&sr=8-1&keywords=power+saves
and the nintendo selects version of ocarina for 20 bucks and you have the exploit installable without a second 3ds.
Alternatively you could just buy a sky3ds cart and use that to emulate cubic ninja. Thats what I did. I picked up a cheap blue button version for 60 a while a go and just installed the game there. Exploit worked as if it was a game cart
>That's not necessarily true. Smashbroshax and Oot3dhax don't require any physical changes made to the 3DS or a second 3DS. Smashbroshax is lengthy but can be done if you have a pc/laptop with a wireless card and preferably a Linux based OS, and Oot3dhax can be used if you have a Datel Powersaves.
>(Smashbroshax may not work on an Old 3DS)
Then why does 3DS.guide state that there isn't a way to do it for 11.2?
I have an O3DS and Linux, but I don't know what Datel Powersaves is.
Edit: I guess it's similar to an action replay device? Is this it? https://www.amazon.com/Datel-Action-Replay-Power-Saves-Pro/dp/B00IVJ1M7M
I'm searching for an SD card to start hacking but I'm afraid of fakes or ones that the 3DS won't accept/can't be formatted to FAT32, I'm looking at this right now but can anyone vouch for it or recommend me a known SD card?
Hello,
I'm struggling since a couple of hours and can't find the reason of my problem.
First some pictures : http://imgur.com/a/RtORq
It's a NEW 3DS XL
I base my soldering on : http://s15.postimg.org/cql9a6i3f/mmc_adapter.jpg
And https://gbatemp.net/attachments/00_n3ds-xl_pins-png.17927/, except for the CLK, i used the alt one as you can see on my pictures.
I did all the soldering fine, and double checked it 5 times already, everything is OK on this part.
Now i turn on the 3ds with the card reader on it, i have a blue screen which is normal, then i put the card reader into my computer, it detect 2 disk, one is "faded" while the other is not (like a normal disk).
But when i click on the disk it just says "no media" and of course WIN32DISKIMAGER doesn't find it (in admin mode)
I use the most known working card reader (the ANKER https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006T9B6R2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), i tried with different ones with the exact same result.
Of course if i turn on the console without putting the SDcard in the SDreader, i will access the home menu like nothing happened.
Any idea ?
Would this damage or hinder the Zelda game or saves in any way?
Well, kind of, insofar as: You can only have the hacked save on the cartridge, it takes up all the room you have so the cartridge won't be usable for regular play. If you delete the hacked save, you can play the cartridge normally again with no ill effects.
And what Powersaves Device would I need specifically?
This one works.
Would doing this cause me to not be able to use internet features in acnl?
Absolutely not. A lot of people in the Reddit ACNL community use hacked towns to hold mass giveaways and the like. There is no way to tell a hacked item/villager from a regular one, they function in exactly the same ways and will not harm your game in any way.
As a matter of fact, I do have Oot. My first 3DS game ever. Would this be the product I am looking for? Was it difficult for you to downgrade using this method?
This device, which allows you to put the oothax exploit onto an oot cart without any other hardware. It only works with oothax because all other exploits are for games that don't work with powersaves.
If it can turn on without the SD card, you'll have to downgrade and redo Plailect's guide from Part 5 if you still have your OTP. (you'll need a Hombrew entrypoint as well)
Your downgrade options are OOT with PowerSaves or Cubic Ninja. :(
You can buy a Powersaves from here : http://www.amazon.com/Action-Replay-PowerSaves-Pro-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00IVJ1M7M
Ok so it's a pretty stupid and quick question, but instead of buying the pre-put in microsd with the r4i Gold 3ds wood r4i, could i just buy a sdhc micro sd seperately? I was looking at buying this https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDHC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-032G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57T02/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1498961989&sr=8-3&keywords=micro+sd+sdhc but i'm not entirely sure. Also, here is the flashcart i was looking to purchase http://www.dsflashcart.com/r4i-gold-3ds-wood-r4i-3ds-flashcard-for-ds-dsi-3ds-p-248.html?zenid=pkl6mgtioshcrrbtq1aqu70961
According to a GBATemp post:
> Q: How can I tell if I've been banned?
> A: If you go to your friend's list, and you are connected to a valid internet-connected wireless network, you will still have a connection error on your screen and everyone will be listed as offline. Furthermore, if you try to use any game's multiplayer functionality, you will get similar messages.
This is a Powersaves.
Your options are: Freakyforms Deluxe, a Powersaves with a physical copy of either OoT, SMD, or ORAS, or a Sky3DS.
With Freakyforms, how it works is you scan a QR code that crashes the game and loads the homebrew launcher. With the Powersaves exploits, you write a hacked save to the cart, load the save, and then initiate a similar crash that's game-specific (e.g., changing your secret team name in ORAS). In both cases, the homebrew launcher needs to be copy/pasted to your SD card, adding boot.3dsx and /3ds/ to the root.
Edit: More info on the homebrew launcher is here. The exploits listed above are, in order, freakyhax, OoThax, SMChax, and basehax.
Ill check mine, I know its 128 sandisk ultra.EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452830468&sr=1-2&keywords=128+gb+micro+sd+card yea 50 mb a second. I have no idea what's wrong
I'm currently trying to install CFW on my O3DS XL on firmware 11.2.0-25E and following the tutorial on 3ds.guide. I'm stuck at the Decrypt9 part. I start safehax and wait a bit. When Decrypt9 starts it gives me the following error:
"-- Decrypt9WIP (2016/11/13) --
Initializing, hold L+R to pause
Initializing SD card...failed
Initialization: failed!
(A to exit)"
SD card is brandnew (it's this card if it matters).
