If you're looking for something hot enough for a bearded dragon, I'm currently using this type of bulb: https://www.amazon.com/75R111-GU10-FL-75-Watt-Reflector/dp/B01NBAEWKP . It has the lowest profile of any flood style basking bulb I've used so far. You'll probably need some soldering experience to set up a gu10 socket though if you want it to be as low profile as possible. I've seen fluorescent bulb ballasts at hardware stores.
