Most of those docks/multi dongles are crap and can't power other devices. So you're SOL there. You probably need this cable to go straight from your MacBook to your iPhone.
the car adapter is the right one, but im not 100% sure about the cable. this is the OEM usb-c lightning cable you want for sure.
