Line in will do it, just get yourself one of these.
The only thing is I'm not sure if the transmitter will combine everything, or only accept one input at a time. Someone else will have to clarify that.
You megadrive output's stereo, but just from the headphone jack in the front. The A/V plug only outputs mono.
If you want stereo you need to get something like this. Plug one end into the headphone jack on the megadrive and set the volume slider to a about at the middle (any farther any the sound will start to hiss a little bit).
Then just plug the white and red ends into your TV or sound system.
You can also get SCART cables specially made to plug into the model 1 headphone jack to get stereo.
The first option with the cheap cable from amazon is probably the better option though.
