CM Storm Quickfire XT might work well.

$100 is a little low for a full sized keyboard. If you went for $150, it would really expand your options.

But that keyboard I linked to is good quality and a low price, and if you got replacement keycaps for it, it would probably be perfect.

CM Storm keycaps look a little funky to me.

u/tgujay · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

This would be a good starter, or this one if you want a TKL.

Quickfire TX is a pretty cheap option. I don't know about the font on the keycaps though. You can probably buy some new ones for it since it's only $90 on Amazon. WASD V2 is also something you might want to consider. Has less flare than the CM board, but costs more, really solid build though. Last suggestion I got is the Rosewill RK9100. About the same price as the CM and seems to have all the features you want. Not sure about Rosewill's build quality though, since most reviews I've read mark them as not great, but not terrible either and older the older rk9000 had keys that seemed to fade out easily. But again you can probably replace the keycaps since the keyboard is relatively cheap.

I recommend the Magicforce 68, I have one and I love it, but on Amazon it doesn't seem to have those switches in black. The white one has many more switch options. There's this but it will take a while to deliver for some reason. There should also be more recommendations in the wiki.

went looking on amazon, there's actually quite a few, the CM Storm QuickFire XT is available in blue, as is the CM Storm Trigger, Filco Majestouch-2, and Monoprice mechanical though not sure why you'd get it from amazon instead...

This Rosewill Keyboard or this CM Quickfire are nice entry-tier mechs. Inexpensive, standard layout, and leaves a bit of money for you to get some white keycaps.

Another option is to get a barebones WASD Keyboard and then pick up keycaps you want, it's a bit over $100 though.

If you want backlit keyboards under $100, you might have to sacrifice the white keycaps. I don't think I've ever seen a mech that comes with white keycaps at that price. Your best option might be picking up a nice backlit mech with black keys, and then replace the keycaps with white ones a bit down the road.

I'm looking for a full-size keyboard with Cherry Blue switches to use at work. I'm currently debating between these two. Any reason to go with the CM Storm over the Rosewill? The Rosewill is $25 cheaper and while I'm not crazy about the LED colors, has the bonus of being backlit. Just want to make sure I'm not missing some obvious flaw or defect.

u/kschang · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Looks like you're looking for a full-size boards with blues and LED backlight.

Rosewill RK-9100 w/ blue LED backlight $91 @ Amazon

Plain, yet solid, genuine Cherry MX Blues. Also available with red LED

EagleTec KG011 w/ blue LED backlight / Outemu Blue switch $50 @ Amazon

Looks much more expensive than it is, Outemu Blue is clackier and the keyboard doesn't feel that cheap.

Coolermaster Storm QuickFire XT $95 @ Amazon

No backlight, but genuine Coolermaster, genuine Cherry switches, detachable cable.

Rantopad MT w/ Gateron Blue switches, white backlight $110 @ Amazon

Gateron switches are rated at least as good if not better than Cherry switches, and that hideous green panel is removable and potentially replacements will be made available later for further customization.

>My favourite is apparently discountinued.

You sure about that?

u/misterhamez · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

are you making mistakes because you feel the red switches are too light or because you don't like the layout of the corsair board? if it's the latter, I would recommend something with a standard layout [like this] (http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-XT-Mechanical/dp/B00DKXXABK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1451980356&sr=8-10&keywords=coolermaster+keyboard). while RGB lighting is nice for the first few hours, a nice set of keycaps is hard to beat.

Pretty sure I have [this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/00DKXXABK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_vHKWub1CTC6HN
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DKXXABK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_vHKWub1CTC6HN), but looking at it now, it would probably bother the crap out of me having to switch. It's not like I need space for my keyboard or anything. I was mainly getting it for the backlight.

u/YungBigFresh · 1 pointr/gadgets

Standard mech with Cherry MX switches : 92 dollars

Razer Chroma with 16.8 million colors and sketchy razer-made proprietary switches (non-Cherry): 160 dollars

u/tigojones · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Quickfire XT or Quickfire XTi (dual colour LED backlight). The XTi is a little over your budget, though.

I highly recommend the Coolermaster Storm series. I use a CM Storm XT (with the full tenkey) with cherry MX blue switches.

Filco is also a good brand, but pricier. Filco uses costar boards which are awesome, the CM Storm XT also uses a costar board I believe.

I'm broke but nice store :]

I have a 710+ that I use at home, been using it for the last year now. I'm definitely not a fan of the looks, but it's a decent performer, and even comes with o-rings under the keycaps to cushion the keys on the downstroke so they're slightly quieter.

For a more muted look, The Quick Fire XT may be one of the few choices within your budget. (I can't seem to link directly to the MX Brown but it is one of the options).

If you really don't care for features, and want blues, there's a few options. It really depends how much you want to spend. The KB below are kinda starter/non-enthusiast boards (with maybe the exception of the corsairs), which doesn't mean they're bad, just that they are what most people are looking for (simple, clean, cheap, and sturdy). You could get other boards for around $150 that are a bit fancier, but it sounds like you just want a KB that works.

This is an decent board, but there are better ($139) -

http://www.amazon.com/Das-Keyboard-Professional-Mechanical-DASK3MKPROSIL/dp/B008PFDUW2/

Corsair has some nice boards around this range, but they also have extra features, such as LEDs and media keys. I recommend the K70 over the strafe, but the K70 is out of stock for some options -

$115-130 - http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlit/dp/B014W1YUAS/

$150 - http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Mechanical-Keyboard-Multicolor-CH-9000120-NA/dp/B014W1YLAM/

CoolerMaster has some really solid boards. I would recommend the CoolerMaster Storm QuickFire Ultimate if you want something that's good but not over the top, and doesn't cost you too much. The CM Storm QuickFire XT is a similar board, but without LEDs.

$108 - http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Ultimate-Mechanical/dp/B00EJ8CKIY/

$98 - http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-XT-Mechanical/dp/B00DKXXABK/

Rosewill also has some nice boards, but they're a bit simpler. I recommend the Rosewill Mechanical Gaming Keyboard if you want something real simple and cheaper than most. The Rosewill Apollo is also nice, and has some LEDs if that's what you want

$80 - http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches-RK-9000V2/dp/B00S5E4KH2/

$94/114 - http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-RK-9100xBBR-Backlit-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00HA201UK/

Apologies for the lack or order and formatting, and let me know if you have any questions. The biggest thing for keyboards is that you like it though, so make sure you find one that appeals to you!

u/systx · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

This is the keyboard, which once was on sale for around $80 CAD over a year ago: http://gaming.coolermaster.com/en/products/keyboards/stealth/

The keycaps: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=772

However, I just got the keyboard blow so I'll be moving the keycaps over to that:

https://www.amazon.ca/QuickFire-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches-SGK-4030-GKCL3-US/dp/B00DKXXABK

Anyway, you can probably find this board on amazon still!

Can anyone help me out on choosing my first mechanical keyboard??

---
I am currently stuck between the CM Quickfire XT and the TTEsports Poseidon Z.

---
But I noticed that Ducky keyboards seems to be all the craze.

Are they really all that great compared to the lower priced keyboards such as the CM XT and Poseidon? o.o;; (sorry for my noob-ness)
I am just curious since they would be a bigger investment due to their prices being over $100. Are they more easily customizable (if so, what kind? Im all for customizations XD)? Are custom keycaps more common for ducky?

---
If these are worth noting..
I currently use a Razer Anasi.
I definitely need my arrow keys and my number pad as I hate using the regular number keys (idk why..)
The Anasi isnt a mechanical keyboard but I love how I can control the backlight, especially since I prefer to keep it an an Amber/Orange sort of color...but im willing to sacrifice it for a diff color ;__;

---
Thanks in advance to any and all help!! Hopefully I can decide before my current keyboard completely dies on me....

What /u/Vell_muddasick is referring to is the Quickfire TK. There is a standard ten-key version by Cooler Master called the Quickfire XT
