What desk and mousepad do you have there?
Is it this mousepad?
Man, what I would do with that extra frame buffer. Would love to get an upgrade to match the looks and lay my old boy to rest. Thanks for the chance!!

Corsair Gaming MM200 Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad, Extended https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FL.SzbBBS9GNF
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM200-Cloth-Extended/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=dp_ob_title_ce Closest I can find
Personally I'd go with a wide mat, so it covers my keyboard as well. A friend of mine got this one from Corsair and really likes it, so check it out.
https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-MM200-High-Performance-Optimized-Designed/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523973898&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=Corsair+CH-9000101-WW+MM200+Cloth+Gaming+Mouse+Mat-Extended%2C+Black
This is the one. Didn't realize how long it was till I unrolled it, so if you have a smaller desk, give it all a quick measure.
If you are considering a bigger pad, I'd also recommend something smaller than that mat, like this.
It doesn't have the giant seams on the edges and is still more than large enough to fit a full size keyboard with plenty of space for mouse movements even at low mouse DPI.
I would imagine the surface finish is a bit better as well, not to mention it would be easier to keep it clean since it wouldn't cover your entire space.
Corsair CH-9000098
Corsair sells one: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM200-Cloth-Extended/dp/B0149QBQE4/
Here's a slightly cheaper one: https://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-1000XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Pad/dp/B00EG7WB8C/
I've never used either so I can't vouch for them.
whoa whoa wait a sec there buddy. if you're going to spend that much on a monitor, it'd better have an IPS panel. this one i picked has Freesync, so Fury X it is.
and as i mentioned before, the jump to skylake is certainly not worth $100+. heck, i wouldn't get it for more than 40.
you'll need more storage, too. (so 2TB just like my parent comment) and you won't need win10 pro nor an 850W power supply.
i changed the keyboard to a much better aluminium one with cherry MX brown switches (and RGB lighting, if you're into that) and the mouse to the one with the best sensor on the market hands down. it's already out of stock (even though it's the new 2016 edition) but it'll be restocked on the 11th of this month.
EDIT: you should also get a mousepad, here's an extended one to fit your keyboard and mouse

The extended MM200 here.
I highly recommend it, really quality material and huge!
Is this extended mouse pad worth it? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0149QBQE4/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1
Anyone got better deal?

It's the Corsair MM200 Extended
How does this compare to the MM300?
Because I bought that other one and it really ^stinks for some reason, even after a month of airing out!
the keyboard mat is the original version of this
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM200-Cloth-Extended/dp/B0149QBQE4
the one on the right
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V7ARAU/
I prefer a mousepad, my desk material is just slightly uneven and causes my mouse to jump when not on a mousepad. Otherwise a mousepad will not give you any sort of "performance" enhancement, most modern laser mice will work on almost any surface.
I actually went with a full desk mat/pad like this. It may be placebo effect, but I feel it helps reduce any keyboard noise that my microphone may pick up when recording. Plus I just like the look.
If you want an extended one, I'd go for this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM200-Cloth-Mouse/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=sr_1_4?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1449021784&sr=1-4&keywords=mouse+mat
It's less tacky imo.
There is difference between those 2.
One is hard type, one is soft.
Most of the other shit is make up. If 2 companies both sell "softer" types, they're pretty similar more or less.
Many hard types can be different through and create less friction, causing it to glide easier.
I personally dislike hard style mouse pads and I've used one for over 2 years. I like my friction, much more accurate.
Go with a cheapo QcK unless you have some specific requirement.
I got this giant extended mouse pad because I specifically wanted one to cover my whole desk.
The solution that's best worked for me has been getting an [XXL mousepad] (https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-MM300-Anti-Fray-High-Performance-Optimized/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521305622&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair%2Bmousepad&th=1) and two wrist rests. The two wrist rests essentially cover the entire width of my keyboard and mouse so my wrists are always on an elevated, padded surface. It's a bit overkill but I rarely have any wrist pain anymore.
this one here mate :)
Thanks, I enjoy the simplicity of it. As for the mouse pad: Cmhoo Extended Mouse Pad.
At home I use the Corsair extended mouse pad which did fit on my desk yet then I would have had to move the chess set. Plus now that I switched to the tenless wireless keyboard I didn't need all of that mat space.
Not quite the same, but if anyone did one of the recent deals for $10 Amazon promo credit and is having a hard time find an item they want that's shipped and sold by Amazon you could pick it up for $2.99. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0149QBQE4/ref=twister_B01MUZ4ZFY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Did this earlier this morning before seeing the Microcenter deal, oh well.
Glorious Extended Gaming Mouse Mat
Corsair Gaming MM200
I have the Glorious pad, brother has the MM200. Both are great, but the Glorious pad has stitched edges which will last longer.
Hard pads naturally love to eat mouse feet because of the textured surface, even if you're careful and never go over the edge. Cloth pads should be a no questions asked go-to.
Not sure if this qualifies as a "simple" question, but...
I bought a mousepad that's just about an inch taller than my keyboard tray, but otherwise perfectly sized. Also, my keyboard tray is slightly curved outward in the front. What I want to do is cut the bottom of the mousepad to fit the keyboard tray perfectly, and then (here's where the sewing comes in) stitch the edges up kind of like this to prevent fraying. I have a sewing machine, and my girlfriend knows how to use it, but neither of us have any idea how to achieve the sort of result I'm looking for. I'm guessing that I'm probably going to have to settle for something a little bit simpler than the example above, but any sort of guidance would be highly appreciated. I do have an old mousepad with the same type of edges as the new one, so I can test the method before committing.
I think the closest thing to what I'd want is the Corsair one. The logo is even less offensive than the Steelseries logo. Or I could go generic which is cheaper and has zero logos!
Its the MM200 Extended.
