I used some store brand two part epoxy, with a 5 minute cure time. Doesn't give much time for assembly, so you have to mix small bits at a time, but when it cures, its solid.

Something like this will work just fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQWY8Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Since everyone else is weighing in: where are the weapons failing? If you tell us what you have to fix over and over we might be able to offer some advice on that in specific.

My generic club advice:

  • VSM boxes and bungee cord reels. Cheap, excellent features on the VSM, very durable.

  • LP non-FIE epee blades (sadly, this will be an all-epee recommendation list); Absolute house brand blades for cheap traditional feeling blades; StM FIE for an economical alternative to BF.

  • LP epee body cords. Well worth the money, they never break.

  • German barrels and tips, Absolute brand house epee wires. They don't have the stupid 'volcano' tips. If you're really on a budget just switch to AF house brand wires and keep the french barrels and tips, there's not much difference.

  • NEPS epee screws. Just brilliant.

  • Or, get a bunch of zip tips. They last a long time and hold the contact spring really well, and they're easy to take out and put back in. Good product, inept marketing.

  • Glue wires with self-mix two part epoxy, not CA glue. Lasts much better.

  • Get the club involved. If you fix everything they'll just keep beating it up. Have pre-competition weapons parties, mandatory work days, insist that everyone there more than a year can at least take a tip apart, set travel, and put it back together.

  • BG 350N synthetic uniforms. I like the unlined ones. These are a little nicer than the Absolute, IME. NO COTTON.

  • Get a sewing machine and learn to replace a zipper. This isn't something everyone has to be able to do, but most college clubs have a pile of useless uniforms that only need a $5 zipper to be usable again.
