Where can I find more info about this? I just got my dad two new 20v XR tools and an adapter so he can use his old 18v tools with the new batteries. His 3 old NiCad batteries are about dead and swapping them out for this would be much better than just recycling them.

He already has a charger for the new kit he bought. I wonder if he could swap out a new charger for something else when he exchanges his batteries?

Edit:

So is it basically just $20 off this when you swap the old batteries? That's not a ridiculous deal, but it's still better than getting nothing for the old ones.

If you already have 20v kit, Dewalt makes an adapter so you can use 20v batteries in 18v tools. Look around, I know a few months ago most tool supply companies were selling most 18v tools/batteries at a deep discount.

If you're willing to spend more and get new, right now is the time to buy. You can get a brushless 3 speed impact and hammer drill, that comes with a 2.0ah and a 6.0ah flexvolt (their next gen battery system) battery for $380. In addition you get 2 free tools (20v bare tools or 20v batteries).

The best package I would say is the impact + drill, with a free circular saw and 2-3.0ah batteries.

Edit: If you don't have 20v; I just saw this kit, you can get an adapter with 2-2.0a batteries and charger for $105. Probably the best solution and will give you extra 20v batteries if your 18v tools die.
