I also have a projector instead of a television. I can project visuals to accompany music, watch live music, movies, etc. It really adds to the trip cave.

I don't have the RGB strips but I do have some bulbs from Lifx. I am pretty impressed with them and pretty sure they use the same LED's that the strips do. The app works well enough, they have a great glow, work with a phone app, can connect to Alexa for voice (yes even the LED strip) and a ton of effects. They are EXPENSIVE compared to others, but if they are anything like the bulbs I couldn't recommend them more and I'm sure the strips would be no different. I will be buying some when my current build is complete just to give some a dim under chassis glow.

It's the LIFX Z Experience i have no idea what the difference is between the starter kit. I bought it because it's 10 feet and only a few $$ more. Also, i bought a returned the Philips hue strip because it's dim and the aregeebee is limited.
If you will be getting any more lights just get the Hue hub, the hub is the least part of the investment compared to bulbs. Hue Lightstrip works well. If this is really your only one look at LIFX
