Hey, I had the same worries as you, so I just invested in one of these. Its quite a bit heftier than the average lock and you cant get a pair of bolt cutters on it, so unless they are going to break the locker door itself it seems like a good bet.
What about a giant thick 3/8 or 1/2 inch (uncuttable with normal bolt cutters) chain and a nice titanium/hardened lock from master lock like this?
