Sounds like a potential issue is that the sound coming out of the optical output of the TV, which may only be 2.0 or 2.1, rather than 5.1. I have this problem with my TV.
You can instead use the optical outputs of each device and send them to an adapter that accepts multiple optical inputs, which then sends the audio off to one optical output based on the input you select. I imagine they make better ones with remote capabilities also. In fact at least one of these has an IR Extender port which might be used for remote capabilities, not 100% sure though. Not sure if this works for you but it might be an option, and these devices should preserve the 5.1. :)

I think the only way to go wireless from SONOS system is getting a Connect, a Steelseries Siberia 800 (or similar) and (optionally) this switch It will be expensive, though
