I use this model, it's one of the cheap ones. The version that doesn't scale works as well. I personally haven't noticed any lag or visual problems, but you may notice.
According to the specifications for your monitor the minimum horizontal scan rate is 30kHz. A standard-definition signal (480i/576i/240p/288p) is roughly 15kHz which is below what your monitor supports, unfortunately. If you're converting from standard-definition content then you'll need to use some sort of scan doubler or upscaler to bring the signal into a format your monitor can handle (the equivalent product to the one you bought is labelled RGB to HDMI scaler).
Check the reviews for whichever upscalers you look at as there's normally a trade-off between picture quality and input lag. Cheaper units usually produce better-looking results at the expense of making you feel like a drunk when you're playing them. Devices with lower input lag that are geared more towards gaming (such as the Framemeister, OSSC and RetroTINK-2X) tend to command a much higher price, unfortunately.
Which adapter did you pick up?
Ive tested this with the HD60 S and Pro: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATNIFPA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Does the audio sound messed up on your TV when using the HDMI passthrough?
I bought this about a month ago to plug my Gamecube into my 1440p work monitor and haven't had any problems with it yet.
I was looking at this particular thingy. I talked to someone who said it had fixed his ghosting issues on his XBOX, but had no idea about the PS2. Anyone with personal experience care to shed some light on the matter?
What problems are you having with the converters you've tried?
What models are they?
I've seen people use the Portta YPbPr Component to HDMI Upscaler/Converter. It won't do digital audio, only analog stereo via the Right/Left RCA audio jacks.
I just got this, and it seems to do the trick. I'm happy with this since now I can go back and play Drakengard.

I've used one before to test image quality before and after. I'll didn't find a noticable improvement so I ended up selling it. It still works great as a solution for HDMI only TV's.

Are there any examples of how I can do this to record into an HDMI capture card? This is the exact point where I'm having issues wrapping my head around.
I can't find any BNC to SCART cables on amazon or retrogamingcables and the component to HDMI adapter I was looking at I don't think will work although it does mention YPbPr AND RGB.

EDIT: Checked the reviews and this only accepts YPbPr. Every time I find a solution it ends up being wrong :(
Wouldn't any component to HDMI box work?
