Labyrinth is a great game for younger players. Simple, and the board keeps changing. There's also a Star Wars version if tombs are not hot right now.
I would suggest Tsuro since the only pieces are the tiles and the little wooden guys, and it's a fun, straightforward game.
There's also Chinese Checkers which is similar to the one you described, where you move the marbles around.
Also, there's Labyrinth, which has cards, but you only use them for reference and mostly just move the tiles.
Finally, when I was little, my grandpa made me a card stand like this to hold cards, that might work for your grandpa too.

The aMAZEing Labyrinth is a great game that I enjoyed when I was young, and still break out occasionally to play. Simple enough for kids to grasp, but complex enough for adults to enjoy as well. I believe it's just selling under the name "Labyrinth" now; you can find it on Amazon here.

Holy crap, I used to love The aMAZEing Labyrinth and I haven't thought of it in at least a decade. I wonder if they still make it...

My son has a board game that he can beat me at about 40% of the time, I'm super proud of him. He's found the first two video games that he's really enjoyed, which are Pushmo and Smash Bros on the 3DS. Can't wait to play Smash with him on the Switch this December.

I love both! Some of my favorite board games that are a bit more traditional are The Logo Board Game, Labyrinth, Facts In Five (similar to Scattergories), Scribblish (or Telestrations), and Vampire Hunter. Family Business is another good one, but that might be pushing it a little bit; it's not super deep, but it takes a bit more strategy than a lot of other traditional games. And if you can get an idea of what some of their favorite TV shows are by reading their comments, you might be able to find a game based on one of those. Did they happen to mention what some of their favorite games are? If so, I'd be happy to make some suggestions based on those.
I second this. My wife owns this game from her childhood. It's one of those few games that take a little bit of thought and I don't mind playing with my 6yr old.

The A-maze-ing Labyrinth is one of my absolute favorite games that I played growing up! I realize that probably isn't a selling point, that I liked it as a kid, but every adult I ever played with loved it as well. It's a really unique and fun game that I can't recommend enough!
Farkle is a fun, quirky game that I've played with family friends a few times while camping. It's dice based, and I know that's a turn off for some people in regards to games, but I'd still recommend it. =)
As far as video games go, you gotta play Portal 2 co-op!! It's so fun and challenging and awesome. And the story will blow you away. I'd definitely recommend playing this after Portal 1 as the story will be even better, but it's not something you have to play in order.
Also, Battleblock Theater is a really fun co-op game! A little puzzly, a little platformy. It's really cute and funny!

My daughter just turned 11 and OMG the pain. I know your pain. She also loves singing and art, and we just got these amazing 3d pens that were on sale at a Radio Shack going out of business. In case there isn't a RS going out of business near you, here is a listing on amazon.
As far as reading material, my daughter has really been enjoying "The School for Good and Evil." I actually read the first one, and it's pretty damn good.
For your younger daughter, this was one of (still is) my favorite books about horsemanship. It's absolutely inspiring.
If your family is into board games, this one is really fun (could be a joint gift?) and the perfect balance of challenging but not too hard.
