Where did you get the idea the Xbox was RCA-out only? You just need the right cables, here's a link to the correct ones on Amazon.

either of these are what you're after, though they might be even cheaper on ebay from honk kong or china. as far as your tv settings go in the meantime, it should just be the picture size button

There's an option in the video options for it - I know games wont typically run at HD unless that specific game had it programmed in but I'm assuming XBMC would run at 720

Yeah it did. It came standard with normal Composite cables (Red Yellow, White) and required you to get another cable like this or the official Xbox one
