I've got a similar one (this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Converter-Charging-Raspberry-Chromebook/dp/B00NBUTHJG), and it works fine. You just have to fiddle with video settings until it works, as mine didn't like the 10bit color setting. Just connect the console to your TV, put all the video setting at their minimum (720p, 8bit color and so on) an then connect it to your monitor. From there, try changing one setting at a time and keep the ones your converter works fine with. If your monitor isn't 16/9 (mine is 16/10) you'll have to bear with some aspect ratio stretching tho, unless your monitor can letterbox it.

This is the key OP. You need an active adaptor. Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Ultrabook-Raspberry-Chromebook/dp/B00NBUTHJG/

Also be aware that this is not bidirectional. You can only use this with a HDMI source and VGA monitor. Not the other way around.

Thanks a lot. I think they should know about it. Their developer added this resolution constraint in their 4.0.0 update. But there is always the possibility that they will not commit it, no matter it is a occasional bug or they just mean to do this. We are the minorities. Few people are still using the DVI and 16:10 monitors. People said maybe it is about the Nintendo's future TV series Apps like Netflix. The HDTV and HDCP standard should be applied on their console. I really wish Nintendo could give us a option to disable this, just like PS4 could disable HDCP manually. But PS4 still have a HDTV resolution constraint, same as switch now.

Please find here the two adapters. Ugreen supports 1080p and has a additional USB cable inside. I think it is a little bit better than CSL. Prices are the same. And the 5V power is needed when playing.

Nice talking to you.

I've had trouble with some CRTs with some HDMI converters. For some screens they work fine but some cannot maintain sync with those.

I have an active adapter from CableMatters with the microUSB on the side that ended up working for me. No link since I found it at work, but it looks like this one:

I have a Roku stick plugged into a really old LCD TV using an adapter that goes from HDMI in to VGA out with audio jack. The TV had an audio input but you can also use pc speakers.

edit: this is the adapter https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Converter-Ultrabook-Raspberry-Chromebook/dp/B00NBUTHJG/ I also had to use a hdmi coupler but they also make a version with hdmi female plug for sticks and stuff that I discovered after buying

The adapter /u/a-k-4-7 suggests looks nice because you won't need a mini HDMI to HDMI converter; however, it doesn't look like it breaks out the audio. This may be fine for you.

If you also want audio (broken out from the HDMI) then you'll need to get a different adapter. I've not tried any on my Zero, but this one worked with my Pi3 (video and audio):

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NBUTHJG/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1466492642

But you'll need a mini HDMI to HDMI converter.

This is the one that is working for me -

I also tried this one, which did NOT work for me

You're not going to have much chance of finding any motherboard or discrete GPU with two VGA outputs, so you'll need to use some sort of adapter. I suggest a motherboard with DVI, VGA, and HDMI, which are pretty easy to find. The HDMI and VGA ports can be directly connected to monitors, and the second VGA monitor could be connected with an active DVI-VGA adapter like this cheap thing.

I'm not familiar with music production. But I can recommend a pc with a strong cpu, and if you can figure out whether he has the connectors you need, this would work out.

Skylake, as the integrated graphics is stronger there. The drawback is the missing VGA slot, you'd need an adapter like http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00NBUTHJG plus an y-cable http://www.amazon.de/Y-Kabel-Anschluss-Beamer-Monitor-einem/dp/B001L6ARW8 to connect the two displays.

Well, first off, your monitor (AOC E2070S) appears to be 1600x900, so it isn't 1080p. Which means not only are you going to have to convert a digital signal (HDMI) to an analog one (VGA), you're going to have to either upscale it from 720p or downscale it from 1080p. Both the digital-to-analog conversion and the scaling required will be problems, since the PS4 itself can't do either of those things for you (it won't output in 900p).

Your other problem is going to be audio - HDMI carries the audio stream, but VGA can't do this. So you'll need an adapter that will also convert the digital audio signal to an analog audio signal while converting the video.

This looks to be the best choice I can find from the brand you're planning on getting: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Ultrabook-Raspberry-Chromebook/dp/B00NBUTHJG/ref=lp_14570285011_1_21?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1565376940&sr=1-21

But that probably won't work at 1080p since your monitor is 1600x900 and I can't find anything that says that converter will scale 720/1080p to 900p, and it only might work at 720p, depending on if your monitor can accept a 720p input. So if you get that one, you're gonna want to try it at 1080p first, then if that doesn't work, plug your PS4 back into the TV and change its output resolution to 720p and try it again.

However, this right here should do everything you need it to do, including (it seems) converting 1080p to 900p: https://www.amazon.com/Converter-Supports-Display-Computer-Projector/dp/B078NM7KYW/ref=sr_1_45?qid=1565377297&s=pc&sr=1-45. Make sure you're on the "HDMI to VGA" variant (they list it under "color" on Amazon for some reason), since the default listing goes the opposite direction and won't help you.
