If you don't want a light that sticks out past the barrel you are going to have a pretty limited selection. I was in the same boat as you about 6 months ago and decided to sacrifice lumens for size because I also didn't want the light adding any length to the pistol.

I ended up with a Viridian CTL and am pretty happy with it overall. It is small, lightweight, button activated (as opposed to a lever), and has a strobe function.

The only significant drawback is the price. $130 could get you a much brighter and sturdier light if you didnt mind it sticking out past the barrel.

This is what it looks like on my 19 (it has identical housing to the C5L): http://i.imgur.com/vPxyoUU.jpg

I did the small light thing, too. Ended up with this on my G19:

I've been comparing the TLR-1s, Viridian CTL, and the InForce APL. And experiences, good or bad, to help sway my decision?
