That sounds amazingly cheap. Was it good jerky? I've had this before, and it's really good, but runs over twice that.

Also, the jerky you get in grocery and convenience stores is awful.

Look for traditional hard smoked jerky, not the new "wet" jerky and you'll find few carbs (generally 1 or less per serving, 6 or less per *pound*)

(Wild Bills, Buffalo Bills, most home made jerky, etc)

Most traditional jerky's also keep better than wet jerky when it's really sweltering out... and are usually vacuum packed by default. They can also substitute for meat in a soup pretty easily if you soak em a bit... add some of dried veggies, lentils, and it's not bad. Nice change.
