This is called a discus launch glider, they're fucking awesome

Here's a link to one, they're really fun to just take to the park and go wild with for an afternoon

u/mysliceofthepie · 16 pointsr/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

No...? It’s a cardboard airplane. Like these

u/Fidodo · 13 pointsr/nintendo

Did you watch the new trailer? They did so much stuff that I hadn't even considered as a possibility at all! I'm sure it's just scratching the surface too. Still, even if it ends up being a $50 game's worth of content, $20 for a multi set building kit isn't out of line with other sets out there, and these sets seem a lot more complicated than the kinds of sets you normally get. Like here's a random example that's just one model for $10.. Since Labo comes with 4 sets (minus the bugs which are super simple), that's just $5 per set, which is actually really good considering the complexity of them.

Oh yeah, you have to find a bulk pack of those balsa planes, I used to love those!
Edit: Amazon to the rescue

And I just might order some myself

Got your back, Here's a 48 pack on Amazon for $10. And there's more variety in the related, including: The Blue Rubber band ones, and The weighted balsa wood ones.

So.. To get a complete plane/radio/batteries/charger all ready to fly at $100 means it will be all proprietary to itself. Nothing you buy for this plane could be used for another plane. It is a horrible way to "Get into the hobby"
Now if you are OK with that, then we can make a few $100 stand alone recommendations.
If you are serious about "Getting into the hobby", then you really need to spend more now to avoid wasting your money now and having to spend even more later.
If you can't afford that right now (and even if you can) I highly suggest finding a local club and seeing if they will let you play on their trainer/buddy box. Most will let you do it at least once without having to join the club.

Edit: This is a decent sub $100 RTF plane for a newbie.

You can still buy the parachute guys. As well as the finger traps and those rubber popper things.. and my favorite, the sticky hands.

Solar charger! You can attach it to your backpack or leave it in your car back at camp (attached to a portable battery pack) and you'll have plenty of juice for the weekend. I have this one but I got it for much less, as it often goes on sale.

Also, this year I'm planning on bringing some of these little guys to give away as trinkets around the polo fields.

Cheap + fun = Balsa Wood Planes

Like these ones:

Even cheaper if you buy them in a hobby shop or toy store.

u/XanXic · 2 pointsr/INEEEEDIT

You sure? The best I could find searching for ornithopters was little rubberband kits and robotic hummingbirds. Nothing like what the original post is showing.

Use Camel Camel Camel. It's a website that will notify you when the price of the product you are looking for has a price drop.

All you have to do is enter the URL of the exact product you want and enter the price you want it to drop to and your email so you can be notified. Great thing is, they don't spam you with junk emails in between the notifications!

Polo and Izod shirst are pretty cheap, I got a couple for work at about $17, they are usually about $40. I

This is something you don't need, but they are super fun to throw around the office. A shitload of styrofoam planes for less than 10 bucks!

This tent, I actually got it for $48 when I bought it.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/

Only $14

u/Panedrop · 2 pointsr/technology

I was came to comment on this same sort of thing, which you can buy for less than $10. They've been around for decades.

u/Psychamele0n · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Thanks for the awesome Contest! My guessing powers say 216 rubber bands! And for something you could use the rubber bands with here is a Rubber Band Powered Glitter. Good luck everyone!

You know, they have made these for like 30 years...

u/RoboOverlord · 1 pointr/apexlegends

You can order them by the box on amazon. I have a handful of them in my desk drawer right now.

These are the ones I like.

u/Darklyte · 1 pointr/ProductPorn

It's technically called an ornithopter

Here is a much bigger one with articulate wings

You can get something similar on amazon

u/grammar_nazi_zombie · 1 pointr/Minecraft

I didn't find it yet, but did find this Ghast Drone that I now need.

u/IWantToBeAZombie · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I found some more stuff that made me laugh. Not entering again - just laughing at the things I found:

Fairy Tattoos

A crab bracelet charm

1p over pirate pencils

Dinosaur gliders. Fuck yeah!

Relive your childhood with parachute army men

This is 17p over. But this reminded me of being a kid so much. Remember people saying theirs was pregnant? Good times. Pregnant plastic alien goop

u/ongy33 · 1 pointr/singapore

link tfw shipping more expensive than the whole box

u/windupmonkeys · 1 pointr/modelmakers

Review of the kit:

Plastic kits do not come with paint or glue.

Alternatively, this is a laser cut model kit for a flying model, though it takes some skill to make it work well:

They come in a bunch of balsa wood parts, some tissue paper to cover the frames with, and rubber band propeller. Quite a challenge, actually, if you've never built one before.

Some good ideas here

Though the correct answer as always is an entire fleet of these airplanes
