For a wiring kit get this.

For a box I really highly recommend building one yourself. Since you're on a very tight budget that may not be possible. If you don't want to build your own box just search amazon for a prefab sealed or ported box for a 12" sub.

Also, you can downsize to a 10" sub to save some money. You will be sacrificing a bit of bass though.

EDIT: OP, I didn't take the subs voice coils into consideration when recommending the above. So instead of using that Sundown SD 2 ohm. If you get that amp, you should get the 4ohm version of the SD. The Sundown E will match with that Kicker amp fine. Thanks /u/Jdoorz for pointing that out.

Bazooka tubes! They had some shaped like NOS bottles, and apparently still sell them: https://www.amazon.com/Bazooka-NOS8-8-Inch-Nitrous-Bottle/dp/B00006HC8Q

You definitely do NOT want any Dual product. The subwoofers sound like crap, don't take rated power, and will blow within weeks. For a cheap setup that will last for a while i'd say something like this:

and this

That amp puts out 1500rms @1ohm, so it will leave plenty of headroom if you want to ever get another sub. In my opinion they are the best amplifiers for the money. I have been using one for quite a while and they put out rated power, sound decent, and are pretty efficient.

It's not that the 10 would drown out the music more than the 8, it's just a matter of hardware limitations. The 8 is only going to be able to play a clean sound at such a small frequency range, it'll almost act more like a mid range woofer than the 10.

I also think if you have good tweeters, you'll be having a hard time making any sealed box overpower the tweeters even in the 500-600 watt range on the woofer. If you absolutely need a 4 ohm impedance, my suggested woofer would be:

It will have a soft top sometimes: http://i.imgur.com/AubeK0E.jpg

Which sub would you recommend? I would like to stick in the 8-10" range and have it be somewhat compact. Those plates will fit in the factory location.

I had a friend suggest this setup:

Kicker 41KM42CW 4" 2-way Marine Speakers

Kicker 41KMW104LC 10" 150 Watt RMS 4-Ohm Marine/Boat LED Subwoofer Sub KM10

Kenwood KAC-M3001 Compact Mono Power Amplifier Conformal Coated 400W Max Power KACM3001

Would that setup work better? I don't need phenomenal sound, I just need some tunes for trails and when I drive this thing around. Could I swap in this sub instead (I don't need the fancy LEDs and stuff): Kicker 11 KM10 10" Marine Subwoofer

You're welcome... and yes, I think I will add a sub. I have a ton of room for one and everyone recommends it. How do you feel about Bazookas? Or should I just build / buy an enclosure?

You can look at marine class stuff. Chances are it will get wet.

This one is self enclosed and should fit under the seat.

Look at reviews tho.

The problem is 6" even at best quality is very difficult to get clean right bass out of, due to size. The low frequencies just aren't there. However low profile subwoofers are available, that you could slide under a seat and such. The stereo you have now is pretty good, other than the bass aspect.

Sell it, invest in a HPS lamp, grow a small amount of weed(just a few plants) once and then sell it off slowly to your friends.

Not advocating for this but it's an idea.

Building a 4x12 is not so difficult though. If you want to make your own ghetto little cab off of amazon this is all you need though. It will possibly catch on fire if you turn it up too high though.

Alternately build this amp.
