They are also rather cheap. Maybe they would be a thing for you? Better than buying a whole new controller.

Ever since my girls got big enough to figure out where I put my controllers they have made a point of taking everything off - frustrating!

I'd recommend the Kontrol Freek attachments. I use them for the right thumbstick only and seems to help with aiming precision.

You'll also want to experiment with sensitivity. I have much higher sens for heroes like Mercy, Winston and Lucio compared to Mcree or Zarya. The aiming in this game is certainly less refined than games like Titanfall or COD.

I've never used one persoanlly, but people swear by them.

They are similar to these but not the same ones. I found the ones I have all beat up, dusty, and on clearance at the bottom of an endcap at a Target.

You can get kontrol freeks if you want to spend $10-$15 or you can get some that simply cover the stick and have bumps on top.

These arent the exact brand i have but its the exact same styles, one choice is elevated and one is just there to cover the thumb w/ bumpies for grip. I have used the bumpy one for 2 years with no problems.

I don't have a wheel. I'd like one but at the moment it's not in my budget and I don't want it to spiral into a full rig setup. The wife prob wouldn't appreciate that the house. lol. But I've done well enough with a DS4 since I've gotten my 91+ wins for that trophy. I have Kontrol Freeks on the sticks with a taller one on the left stick. The taller stick allows me better control when turning. Then like u/mcfudgebutts said throttle control is similar between the two. Just make sure your trigger is working properly assuming you'll map throttle to the that. Triggers on DS4s are known to fail and you won't accelerate fast enough if it's broken.

I ordered Kontrol freaks edge and strike pack, hopefully that helps.

Strike pack just for the paddles as I won't be using any mods.

if you google "xbox 360 silicone grips" you should get results for things like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mudder-Silicone-Thumb-Stick-Protect-Controllers/dp/B00ZCEW8P4. I use something similar for my PS4 controller. they are basically silicone covers that you push over the top of the stick.

I actually bought a pack of these well over a year ago off Amazon. They were $5.99 at the time and allowed me to cover all my controller sticks as well as give some away. Totally worth the price to protect the sticks when compared to something like Kontrol Freeks where you can only buy one pair for around $15 (they do serve a different purpose though, as Kontrol Freeks raises the sticks up significantly when I was just looking for comfort/grip).

KontrolFreeks definitely are an improvement to gameplay, I've owned quite a few since Xbox 360. Personally though, I think these are more bang for your buck. I have a set since I first got my X1 and all of them are still in perfect condition (other than dirt). I had a similar issue. I just purchased new sticks on amazon and installed them myself. It’s pretty straightforward. Go to YouTube for a video if you’re not comfortable taking the controller apart.

These are the one's I bought, they arn't exact replicas and the plastic feels a little cheaper than what is used on PS4 controllers, and I would probably buy a different set and hope they are a bit better quality

What about a set of different colored thumbstick grips? That shouldn't prevent you from using the charging station.

Are you looking for a replacement stick, or just the top grip? I notice the Ipega grips are a bit slippery (they're pretty much the same as XB360 ones) and I use these kind of grips on top.

I had an Ipega PG-9023 though, which has a standard size stick, not sure if that applies for the 9087.

These are the cheapest and best for FIFA in my opinion. They don't add any noticeable height and keep your thumb tight butthole on the stick.

Sony just had their Days of Play sale a few weeks ago where retailers like Amazon had DualShock 4s marked down to $39.00. But, I guess that's the way things go, eh? Our stuff waits til the sales are over to break...

Amazon currently has the silver DS4 on sale for $46.95, and if you take a look at this reddit post, you can save quite a bit of money on it if you have Prime or sign up for a free trial of Prime.

As for how to make a controller last more than a year, I've had the same DS4 since I bought my PS4 over 3 years ago and it's still working fine. I keep analog stick covers on my analog stick, like these.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you other than to clean it regularly. You would be shocked and probably disgusted to see just how much gunk builds up in the cracks of the DS4. I bought this and it works wonders for getting the yucky stuff cleaned out of the controller.

There is a mix in terms of recommendations for sensitivity, some people particularly Genji players recommend high sensitivity up to 80+, some are down at 60.

The same thing happened to me, so I bought these bad boys and I'm more comfortable on my Dual Shock 4 than I ever was. Don't replace the whole stick, that's silly.

Shameless plug here, but I sell joystick grips on Amazon here. You can put them on, and then eat as many chips/cheetos/those hella bomb cheese balls you want without getting your joysticks dirty. Then you can just wipe them off or run them under some water and they're clean. It works pretty well, especially since chopsticks can be confusing if you're really high.
